I hate gore based horrors , just lazy IMO. the hostel films and Saws are just messed up thoughts that a psychologist would lock the average person up for thinking.

Agreed. The Final Destination movies are a good example, first couple were good then it became more about the gore in the sequels and had some disgusting moments. Bring back the actual horror.

The original Halloween when you are just a kid watching it was scary, as was Hellraiser. Oh Evil dead too. My local video shop never cared about age verification back in the late 80s and 90s.

Same here, not into gore at all.

I like the South Korean stuff. They do a lot of tense, creepy stuff. Even films like Train to Busan which as a Zombie film would traditionally be more gorey, they've done really well building the tension rather than the gore.

Another worth mentioning is The Wailing. Anyone seen this? Excellent film imo.

Pans Labyrinth is another foreign film worth mentioning. There's more to it than just horror, but there are moments which are very uncomfortable!

The original Halloween was actually scary. Most horrid aren’t. Green hell isn’t scary at all but it’s so gory it makes you sick, I prefer genuinely scary films, there aren’t all that many that deliver though

Genuinely thought nothing could be worse than "The Acolyte" as far as watching something goes this year. Thought they had in the bag for just straight up kicking a franchise when it was down...........but then I just watched the Joker 2, man talk about a case of "Hold my beer", thought nothing could match Wonder Woman for going from an amazing first film to steaming pile of sheet for the sequel, but man Joker 2 makes 1984 oscar worthy!
