Only just watch the match highlights last night. The culés are facking hilarious. No knowing whether the ghost goal went in, but they're incensed the ref didn't use guesswork to give them the goal. And all the focus of the penalty on Lucas leaving his trailing leg to collide with Cubarsí, whilst completely ignoring that the latter had already clipped Våazquez's leading foot.
And this is their basis for claiming they were robbed and demanding a replay. Christ on a bike. Laporta and Xavi are such a pair of whingers.
Btw, Olympiacos won the UEFA Youth League last night, soundly beating AC Milan in the final.
Milan had beaten Porto and Olympiacos beat Nantes in the semis, both of those on penalties.
Refreshingly unpredictable competition that.
I wonder if could herald Greece as a force again?
They must be producing some decent young players to have won that
When were Greece ever a force (flukey 2004 win doesn’t count)?
Always hard to tell with youth teams, especially when it’s club level where you’d often see some of the best players not even playing in the competition, for a variety of reasons.
they were a force in 2004 that's why they won the Euros
they also beat Spain in Spain in the qualifiers for that tournament

Wahl was spot on when he called him Firmino’s Dullest Tooth.
NPEnis was a great slander name too
I miss him. He used to be such a normal lad on here too, we used to play FIFA together.
Nikoplololololololololidis was my favourite.
If Nicolas Jackson tried to look between Q and M on his keyboard, he’d miss.

Ok, that's a good one.

2 points on this really:
1. This has been a running joke on GN for the best part of a decade hence ‘Peks ’
2. Considering some of the other things you were called on the footy live thread it’s very telling what actually bothers you

Think he was talking about Wahl.
A bit more basketball talk - Goran Dragic (Slovenian born player, had a good career at the Heat before his retirement) went on a Podcast like all the ex-pros do and talked about the concept of Yugoslavia and how they could compete against team USA (would have Jokic, Doncic, Bogdanovic x2 etc). This is hilarious for a few reasons:
1. It blew American's MINDS that there was a place called Yugoslavia, so many people were like "OH MY GOD WHAT A COOL NAME!"
2. It kinda misses the whole point of why they don't exist.
3. He talks about the 6 countries that split and completely ignores Kosovo - which almost everybody in the comments have missed. Which seems odd as I thought Slovenes were pro-Kosovo.
Continuing the train of thought do we think a Yugoslvanian football team would have won the WC/Euros?
