"Iran is blatantly questioning US strength and resolve, thanks to [Joe Biden's] appeasement of the world's largest sponsor of terrorism," said Florida Senator Rick Scott in a post on social media.

Wow, a Tory yank actually having the balls to say that about Israel
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was he referring to Israel? I’m not so sure Arab. Think he’s talking about Iran and that Biden has been too weak.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
this

i have learned over the years that when a GOP guy seem 2 say sumthin reasonabubble, uhave misunderstood em
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah Arab should have trusted his instincts that a ‘Tory yank caaant’ wouldn’t be speaking out against Israel.

As many of us wondered when this all escalated months ago - where is this going to go? Other Arab nations and the US? We’re starting to see additional parties get involved now, I just wonder how far this will go.

Full on conflict with Iran? What will the neighbouring states do? US relations with several other Arab nations are so profitable that you’d have to think they won’t get involved. Will Iran push it so far to invite direct US military action?

I don’t know him at all.

Party politics aside Forza, would you say that the standard of US politicians, be it senators, congressmen whatever has declined in recent decades?

For the UK equivalent I would say certainly yes, our options to choose from have been abysmal in the last 20 years declining steadily.

As for the US - to have Biden or Trump as the options is clearly awful and I would say especially the democrats the fact that they have no-one else that they would turn to that is genuinely capable is quite shocking. The republican candidates seem to me to be scared of Trump so until he’s out of the picture they’ll all back away. I know you probably hate him (and others on here) but I quite like Vivek Ramvaswani, I don’t know exactly how much sheeet he talks (ie hypocritical crap) or how dodgy he may or may not be but I just like how he articulates himself and doesn’t seem to be obsessed with division.

You boys keep defending and deflecting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whoooop!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m not defending nor deflecting anything, so that doesn’t make any sense.

I posted the reports of UNRWA members being linked with the October 7th attacks and all you two had to say was ‘well I won’t believe Israeli accusations’ (not mentioning that several people have already been fired by the UNRWA) and that it doesn’t justify the killing of innocent civilians as if anyone (including myself) implied otherwise.

It’s like having a discussion with an American Democrat about the shortcomings of Joe Biden and their dogmatic obligation to bring up Trump every single time.

You can have a conversation about one without the other you know?

I think it’s actually quite a major story, part of a very long and major conflict. Deflecting about civilians causalities from the Israeli attacks or that because the Israelis have raised a public complaint about the issue implicitly meaning that the complaint has less merit is daft. People have already been fired, it’s quite clearly a legitimate complaint; hence why so many countries have now paused financial aid. It should make you question how deep it goes: is it just a matter of a fringe group of individuals? Were they properly involved in the attacks? Does it reflect a wider conflict of interest within the U.N. or a demonstration of bias / erosion of neutrality?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what was the "whooop!" all about then?

The U.N. has immediately reacted to Israel's accusations in a Caesars wife manner, as you stated the individuals named have immediately been removed from the payroll for reasons one can only assume is to protect their image of neutrality.

To blindly, unquestioningly, believe Israel, who are killing innocents, with literally nowhere else to go, within the sanctuary of U.N. compounds on the premise that a handful of former employees may or may not (its an allegation at this stage) been involved in the terror attacks, is crazy talk and a deflection from the bigger issue of civilian deaths due to IDF artillery strikes on a U.N. base, which is internationally recognised war crime.

If you genuinely believe the U.N. have taken a side, then there is no point in debating this any further. That's not me saying the U.N. is faultless, its one of the biggest employers within Gaza and it probably has employed dubious characters, I just doubt very much it does so deliberately.

posted on 29/1/24

Is there any surprise the West went silent when the ICJ made their decision on Israel and the minute these accusations come out on the UN with no proof they start pulling their funding? It’s disgusting how much Arabs are despised by these people. And they wonder why their bases are being attacked and their troops dying.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Labour have been fairly reasonable throughout this.

- Not calling for things that aren't realistic like a full on ceasefire
- Giving short shrift to antisemitic cranks and conspiracies
- Being firm on the need for pauses, humanitarian corridors

It's a pretty reasonable stance.

The people upset over it are exactly the people they need to disassociate themselves from if they want to seem credible to the majority and win power.

26,000 dead Palestinians and it’s not reasonable to call for a complete halt of this war. This is why Tories are genuine lowlife scuuuum.

posted on 29/1/24

Why would calling for a halt acheive anything?

There was peace before Hamas sent terrorists to kill people in the deadliest attack on Jews since the holocaust. Their actions are explained by their own charter. How can Israel make 'peace' with that? Why would the war suddenly just stop if they pulled out. Hamas have been firing rockets for years.

If you want peace call for the hostages to be returned. I wait with baited breath lol

What the fack are you on about? When has there ever been peace in the last 75 years? Have you been sleeping through all of the dead Palestinians the Israelis have been picking off since? You think terrorist organisations like Hamas are formed for no reason?
