We pay approx 2,500 gbp per yr for 2 cars
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ours us goin up approx $10 per car per munth becuse they found out we drive em moor than they thort we did

Robbing baastards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ask bmcl. Let's see him defend his profession.
BTW do you guys have "no-fault" insurance?
It's actually both at fault in practice here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂😂 my time to shine.
So, car insurance, massive con the last few years. Basically there’s been a series of regulatory reforms (equalising costs for male versus female motorists, equalising of new business and renewal prices) which have been well intentioned, but insurers have used them to inflate their costs. My suggestion (not to be taken as financial advise!) if you are a good driver is to go down the black box/telematics route.
Another big thing we see more and more of is thefts. Criminals are getting better at breaking into keyless entry vehicles, and so claims go up because of this. Claims rising means that because of the pooling of risk, premiums on average go up. Add in big jumps in expenses (wages, rents, energy) these all get passed on to maintain profit margins.
No fault claims are a tricky one. Statistically, you’re more likely to make a future fault claim if you have a previous no fault claim. But obv if you’ve not caused an accident, it feels rough to get pinged for it. I got hit with this recently when someone hit me (entirely their fault). But insurers can use whatever data is legal to set their price. So I guess similar to yours in that both parties, the one at fault and the one not at fault, get a hit on their insurance premiums.
Black box insurance quotes are still expensive though BMCL
I read so me crazy stuff about the black bix thingues
Regustering the car driving at 100mp then slammin on breaks when in reality it is parked in the garage
Etc
Why must we pay for insurance, in my parents country they don’t insure cars

Yeah and if someone runs over your kid and injures her/him?(sorry don't remember which yours is)
Who pays medical bills and recovery if the kid's hospitalised?
Does Alberta still have state insurance Q?
