Why do you hate Bayern so much, Melts?

Lived in Germany for a bit in the late nineties and the hatred of them from who I knew there rubbed off on me!

Got a soft spot for a couple of clubs from then too, Hertha Berlin and St Pauli, mainly the former.

I seem to remember Real Madrid getting given two clearly offside goals against Bayern in the CL a few years ago, to go through, before VAR. Tonight's a bit less obvious but really well worked by the officials to get around VAR, when it used to be much easier.

I don’t tbh! I did when the PL was initially set up, think the difference in Germany back then was Bayern are the equivalent of the big five at that time all in one club.

Of them, Arsenal and Liverpool at different times I really didn’t like. Not as much any more though, there’s no clubs that I actively like to see lose and never really have done. Certain players and managers I do!

In fact just thinking back now, I imagine I was the only city fan who celebrated to the level I did when you beat them in the CL final in 99! A bit of that was being with family that supported United, a bit was my dislike of Bayern.

If if the idea is that it's fixed and Madrid have to win it, why does the ref disallow Madrid's 90th-minute winner, only for VAR to demonstrate it was well onside?

And then why does he add way over the allotted time when he could easily have blown up a good minute and a half earlier? I read elsewhere that the ref actually signalled two more minutes to be added to the original 9 of stoppage time ... but the incident that suggests the "fix" doesn't occur until after 102:30.

The ref jumped the gun, perhaps even in a slight panic because he knew he was way over time, but it's a pretty weak case unless you wilfully ignore the rest of the context.
