Johnston not being booked for the foul on silva?

Other than that thought he done well. Two pens both correct, goal chopped off for us which was justified.

What decisions did he get wrong?

Should have given two yellow cards to Celtic in first ten mins for deliberate fouls

On field, he didn’t give either pen. On field, he was 10 yards away when the Celtic player was clearly fouled before Rangers ‘goal’ was disallowed. Shambles of a ref

Same with the head-clash (Yang?), again right in front of him, but let Rangers complete their attacking move first before stopping the game.

VAR caught the things he never. A couple of minor things wrong.

Both sets of players deserve more stick than the officials.

I just wouldn’t moan about the ref today. Didn’t make any big fook ups that impacted the game.

VAR helped him tbf but that’s what it’s there for.

CCV kicks the ball away when he's out of position
No yellow given

That's about the only real error I think he made, one that VAR couldn't back him up for

As for everything else...first pen would've been hard to see, can see how he booked Silva at first but on reflection it's a pen......disallowed goal, if he wasn't sure he could let it rumble on knowing VAR could look at it if we scored (think some refs do this now)

Didn't get much wrong for me
Walsh made the right calls in VAR room which I'm happier about

Blaming Beaton is pathetic but sadly predictable.

For once the guy had a decent game: he got all the big calls right for me.

It never fails to amaze me how some fans let their colours cloud their judgement when it is staring them in the face.

I thought Beaton was as good as we can ever expect.

As has been said; no decision he made changed the course of the game.

What was that stramash at the end btw?

The two of them were talking earlier in the game and it looked like they were having a bit of a laugh and a joke...then that happens at the end of the game, fck knows what was said

Thought he did ok , like every ref when they go to the monitor they almost always either change their mind or give a penalty very few stick by their decisions, a draw was good enough for me given the way the game panned out, from a Celtic POV we have to match Rangers results and beat them at Celtic Park by them McGregor, CCV and Hatate will have more minutes in their legs we should be better by then. Annoyingly why do Rangers always find and have good GKs and on a final point kudos to Oreilly that atmosphere with no fans to have the bottle to panenka a penalty fair play

Only question I have is why Johnston wasn’t booked for the pen…he was already on a yellow

Is it yon double jeopardy rule thing?

Don't think its automatic, was Goldson booked for the hand ball?

On a side note I really hope it’s a Celtic V Rangers final the whole no other fans thing really is schite, no back and forth no taunting each it’s pash, imagine the reaction of both fans today the way that game went back and forth

Who is blaming Beaton? Not me. Celtic fell short simple as that. My point is that Beaton is a very poor ref.

You literally said he made ‘game changing’ decisions. Grow up

I don't see the problem with Beaton. He called everything he seen.

He can understandably not see Goldson's handball so VAR asked him to review it

He didn't see the foul in the lead up to the Rangers goal so VAR asked him to review it

He seen the dive by Silva and rightly booked him but VAR didn't show him Johnston getting to the ball first

VAR gave Rangers the draw not John Beaton

For a start it wasn't a foul

Also not every foul is a booking. Silva was diving from the first minute anyway

Goldson didn't get booked for his handball because it wasn't a yellow card offence

posted on 7/4/24

Not getting on his case but he was a couple of yards away from the initial foul that lead to the Rangers goal being chopped off with a clear line of sight that was poor refereeing if you are honest

The ball is still ahead of Silva for him to run on to when he gets kicked in the knee

Anyone saying it’s not a penalty is a fecking idiot. Stonewall penalty.

I agree celtic fouling all over the pitch at least 3 players could have seen a 2nd yellow.

poor show but Celtic usually get the decisions in these games
