I don't even see Mark Allen playing good safeties...

Mark Allen is not playing hard tactical snooker - he is playing overly negative snooker. It's terrible to watch and honestly, I don't think it's great for his game. Sure he can scrap out frames, but he's become so dull and tied down and lost all rhythm when it comes to break-building etc.

Selby isn't this bad - sure he knows when to grind, but when on form he is decent amongst the balls etc. Allen is over-thinking it way too much and needs to quicken up

It's the fact that he is a great potter and good break-builder, but sometimes you have to take the pot on rather than play safe. He's gone way too negative. Refusing pots he shouldn't - you can't just grind your way to the title, you've got to take some risks

Ebdon wasn't that bad, he even took on some crazy shots at times.

That’s what I don’t understand. I keep hearing he has become tactically really good, but I’ve seen no evidence of it.

He is still winning tournaments, and he has definitely developed a very strong B game, but it's like he's forgotten how to play his A game or just got it in his head to be so cautious. But for me it's just hindering his natural game.
Allen should have a Higgins style approach.
I still think Allen could reach the final, but if he was to meet Judd or Ronnie, he would need to up his scoring and break-building

The kid should get back on the maccy Ds & lager put back on some timber, chillax get his weasel greased and start playing decent attacking snooker again 😕

I’m not sure if Mark Allen was this negative in those tournament wins. I certainly don’t remember him being this negative in the Uk Final.

Can't believe Higgins missed that red by so much... amateur standard shot

I remember throughout that tournament, wow, what's happened to you, so slow, negative, really tough to watch. And he has said in interviews he is changing to become a lot tougher to win tournaments, and I guess he could argue it's working, but I just feel he's gone too far.
There was a long red about 6-9 inches right over the pocket and refused it to try and play a snooker - absolutely ridiculous.

I think Brecel has shown Jack that if everything goes for you, you can win it with that brand of snooker. But he needs to be on it for most of the 2 weeks and hope he's really on it against Ronnie / Judd should that happen, but it will give him more confidence if he can get through Bingham

Allen wasn't negative in the champion of Champions final against Judd this season to be fair. He played very well in that match. There was one frame he stole where he took a lot of time on some shots but he seemed positive throughout that match. It's strange he doesn't seem to play like that much nowadays though.

In this match I think Allen will just wear down Higgins and beat him by the odd frame or two. John isn't quite the player he was, but he'll battle away so you can't rule him out

Higgins wins the frame and leads 7-5 at the mid session interval.

This is a tough watch. I agree Allen may just be trying to grind Higgins down, but John is holding out for now.

Bingham wins the frame and leads 7-6. Jack had a good chance to steal the frame there.

Arsenal, Well done beating Spurs! 👏

The BBC are sick of Allen, the've left us watching Jack... He's so good to watch, but his shot selection is a lot to be desired

posted 3 weeks ago

72 break from Jack and he's level at 7-7.

Hope that Villa loss hasn't cost you... Man City are a nightmare...

Lisowski is playing like he's in Riley's after 7 pints 😅. Most casual careless player I've ever seen
