I imagine it'll depend on how the season finishes, like if we win then I could see White and Odegaard replacing Walker and Bernardo in that team, for example.
We probably wont though

Voting usually closes end of April I believe.

Hmmm who knows then. Personally I think White, Gabi and Ode should be in there but I don't really expect it
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Yeah, my personal choice would be
Pickford
White, Saliba, Gabriel, Akanji
Rodri, Rice
Palmer, Foden, Odegaard
Watkins
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Hard for me to argue with that team really

Always thought that was daft. Is misses the crucial stage of the season in the decision.

Really is, how long would it take to collate the votes? There must be an app that does it automatically so why do it so early
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
I know Raya has had his issues, but is he not in the conversation for GK?
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
I can't see how he would be, not been tested that much and cos of the Ramsdale situation all his blunders have been amplified. Pickford still being in the running for golden glove with that Everton side seems way more impressive.

I’m not sure. I guess because it has been done this way for so long it’s just something they keep doing.

Raya missed 6 games, 4 with Brentford, 2 because of the loan rules. He's allowed us to dominate teams with the way he plays, always catching crosses and playing as a 3rd CB. Not saying he should win it, but should definitely be in the conversation.
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
He probably should be in the conversation but just seems like a waste of energy cos he clearly won't get picked
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Should be Allison for me anywat, I know he missed a month but the amount of times he saved Liverpool this year is incredible.
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Yeah Liverpool would have been midtable without Allison.
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Liverpool have won 26 out of 30 and are unbeaten without Alisson, who has dropped as many clangers as Raya.
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
If you have Rodri, you don't need a second DM, Rice isn't close to Rodri in ability, and having a good defender stepping forward into midfield allows another attacking midfielder. Stones, when fit, is superb at that.

This is team of the season, not an actual team to go out and play a game. Stones is nowhere near the discussion with his 12 starts.

I would have a tough job arguing against any of these.
Certainly the back five, Rodri and Rice. Maybe Isak and Bowen.
But like I said, I couldn't put up a compelling argument for either.

Centre Backs
William Saliba and Gabriel definitely have to be in the conversation. Virgil van Dijk will be mentioned by many. Some will push the Spurs CBs forward. Jordan Brainthwaite may be discussed. Citys defenders, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji could be in for CB or LB.
_____________
Might have to be Saliba and Gabriel, certainly the best cb partnership and prob played the most together albert Arteta tried dropping Gabriel at the start? VVD was outstanding for a lot of the season as was Alisson but yeah idk. Braithwaites been brilliant but wouldnt he be in the young TOTS?
fair team from DJ tbf, if Arsenal win it i can see Gabriel and White making it.
posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Think Udogie, VDV & Vicario would have been nailed on early season, maybe Son too. Spurs just fell apart a bit though and while they've been more fun to watch they haven't really been any better.

Arsenal surge of goal scoring run will have tilted many to vote for Arsenal players. The players end up voting for those who media pushes forward & I believe both Saliba & Gabriel were getting many plaudits (with Gabriel amongst the goals). These two could pip VVD.
Rice will definitely get in. White deserves to be in, but who knows with his England non selection perhaps coming untimely around voting.
