Yeah I was just thinking that. There's no one that stands out in the market like Rice did. Palhinha is probably only a bit better and is 28 and would be expensive. After that it's probably a punt on someone from abroad. Morten Hjulmand has been linked, he's got the Rodri/Rice body type

I dont think Rice would be performing that much better instead of Bissouma. In the last 5 years Bissouma is ahead of Rice for tackles p90, interceptions p90, tackle % and a whole host of other things.

I think you are letting the Bissouma mistake vs Luton the other month form an opinion on his tackling.

Rice as good as he is, wouldn't be a perfect fit in that role either. The ra*ist is better suited to what we expect from the DM.

I don't think we need someone that good on the ball. Efficient, with very few errors really. Move the ball quickly and don't give it up in dangerous positions.

he was starting basically every week before the recent run. and he's not gonna change a winning team now they've finally found some form. I guess you can be cynical about them starting to pick up points after he was moved to the bench but I think that's more a coincidence, dyche has said himself that they were playing better earlier in the season and just weren't getting the results

given his age and traits I think he's very impressive

He's a system manager who has the same blueprint no matter the team. Dyche wouldn't build around Rodri let alone Onana.

Fair. At least start him every game tho. If he were good enough that he'd improve us he should be a no brainer in their midfield

I'm not desperate for Onana personally. I like the defensive side of our DM role and would like the new signing to be more in the Jorginho/Wharton etc mould.
