If we are fortunate enough to get past Bolton tonight and make it to Wembley for the FA Cup semi final V Chelsea, it is understood that Chelsea are lobbying the FA to have the match brought forward to the Friday. This is only if Chelsea beat Benfica in the CL.
Now if this scenario does arise, then I think we should tell Chelsea and the FA where to go.
Any change has to have the agreement of both clubs, the FA, the police etc and I would think television would not be happy about moving dates.
From the logistics viewpoint, it would be a nightmare having a Wembley match on a Friday evening. Whether it it us or Bolton fans will have to travel during the daytime and Wembley is murder on a weekday night as most fans already know.
It also puts extra strain on the police, as Friday is one of their busy nights dealing with people out enjoying the beginning of the weekend.
From our viewpoint I think we should just say tough luck and we want to play on the Sunday, I certainly could not see Chelsea helping us out if the positions were reversed, especially the way Chelsea behaved over the Modric situation last year.
The FA also deserve little help with the current uncertainty over the England managers position, which has not helped the Club in focusing on the future. I believe this speculation along with his court case has not done Harry any favours.
I hope Bolton would take a similar stance if they get through tonight, especially as their fans would face traffic chaos on the motorways on a Friday afternoon!
Chelsea Request? Not a Chance!!

BusbysBabes,
Take a look at the rankings, if we have one more season like this one, in the next 2 or 3 years, it's likely we will only have 3 teams in the CL, so don't try and correct me if you don't know what you're on about
========================
Exactly. You said it yourself, it will take at least another 2/3 years until the Prem is (possibly) affected.
And as this is the first time in ages since only one EPL team has made it this far, i wont worry too much bout it for now.
As such, why would we (Spurs) want Chelsea to be given an extra day to recover? Makes no sense at all.

As I'm not in a position of responsibility within the club I really don't know but my fan's viewpoint says no, I don't think we did have a choice.

But your hypothesising as much as me. Unless you've got stonewall proof (link?) that the club were given a choice then it's simply a difference of opinions.

Sky determine what games they want live and the contract with the clubs dictates they HAVE TO fit in with Sky's scheduling unless there is intervention from the police etc.
You are just guessing, I have spoken with a friend of mine who works in Isleworth and he has confirmed that clubs have to go along with the Sky schedule, even if it is a late decision.

On top of that, no club in the Prem (bar one or 2) are in a financial position to refuse the tv money deals, so they know they have us all by the short & curly's.

Sky do not have the FA Cup, however the comment was that clubs have a choice of when they play. Would suggest that ITV/ESPN would have similar stances to Sky re matches.
