I guess he will have a thorough medical before anyone signs him up..but to pay that sort of money for someone who is still in recuperation seems folly to me too.

I too have to agree again, You would have thought that the prospective buyer would put the deal on hold till he proved his fitness and the made their move in january for a fully fit player rather than pay a fair bit for a potential crock, Makes no sense to me.

For me if there is any chance a team wan'ts to wait till January and see if he regains fitness and ability, great they will have a long wait cos I would never pick him again.....and the only fitness he would get would be in the gym (no reserve team you see...)

If Pilks doesn't go before the season starts it'll be dificult for LC to pick him now, and the reception he'll get from the fans doesn't sound as if it would be too friendly either...he's sort of burnt his bridges it seems...I guess any sale deal will be based on matches played as he proves his fitness, but Town would be best holding out for an up front fee if they can get it. Maybe with a few clubs in for him we'll get what we want..

He will only have to fail one medical and his chances of moving will plummet, just desserts me thinks.

I for one hope Pilks does ok. Good luck to him. It could go like a Liam Lawrence type scenario. The full of potential but never quite reaching the the quality needed to play at a higher level either through injuries or motavational problems. I do want all the money up front though, or plus a player. Not the half now half later deal. On the flip side, have just watched the B'mouth game again and DM looks a pretty good replacement anyway. Not saying he is as good as Pilks but I think will definately create and score goals.
Just need DJ back with someone like Leven and a pacey CB

I recon DM will be better than AP

He's got a better pedigree than Pilks had and he seems to know how to play the position better and be a team member and that means playing for the team and not for himself.

Aye TTC, valid point, just hope our leader decides to play him to his strengths, not something he is always very good at beyond goalkeepers........

TTC, I see you made a similar point elsewhere, apologies
