At £3m wouldn't it be worth keeping him in the squad in case Hart is injured, he is still a great keeper and how much would a replacement cost ?

Wouldnt mind him staying, look at Brad Freidel and a few others of the same age. He has a few good years in him still so if we sell him then 5M is a fair market value

I think the club would be more than happy to keep him but he wants first team football.

How much did City pay for him?

He's still a top keeper and most can play until 40 so he's got five years ;left maybe more.

you serious?? from been one of the best keepers in the league to destroying his career by keeping him on the bench? he is a great keeper still one of the best would still be good enough to play for one of the top 4

Destroying his career? He was up against a better goalkeeper and the only top 4 club he might get a look at in is Arsenal, then again most conferrence league goalies would be better than what they have.
Not disrespecting Given but Hart was given his chance and took it and is the future of goalkeeping at city, hence the record clean sheets by a recent English goalkeeper in the prem. Given's career has hardly beeny ruined, possibly what might have ruined it was staying with Newcastle for so long if he wanted to win things.

Given had no problem coming in and taking Hart's place when he joined us.

When he joined us he signed a contract. We pay him his wages, we don't owe him anything more. He should just knuckle down and fight to regain his place, just as Hart did.
