No, a lot of people ni Spain follow and enjoy the PL. There's also the added spice of following the Spanish players there.

In this day and age, it's pretty easy to follow more than one league, provided you have the time of course.

Just look at the contingent of Athletic Bilbao supporters who travelled to Old Trafford. They went to see and support their team of course, but there was the added incentive for them of going to watch a top English team, a league that they greatly admire and respect.

Having more teams in the semi-finals of europe has nothing to do with being "the best league in the world". Fair enough if means they probably have the best TEAMS in europe.... but certainly not the best league.

For example, if you lived in Spain, you wouldn't care how entertaining the PL is, to you it'd just be boring because the team you support aren't in it.

I do live in Spain, and the coverage of the PL on normal television is rather extensive, put it this way I see the goals of the 3pm games way before I would see them on UK television.


I think also with the Europa Cup our top UK teams never take it seriously. Spurs or Man City could have at least got to the final if they really wanted to but they wasn't bothered.

True - they show more PL match highlights than they do of Spain's 2nd division.

Those that say the Spanish league is predictable are speaking nonsense, the top sides don't win 5-1/6-2 etc every week.

Real only have 2 points more than United currently have in England. While Barca have 4 points less than United currently have.
