Everyone is just exaggerating the situation imo.
CL is what matters. We have one team in there, easily could have been more. Spain have two.
Nothing to worry about.
4 years ago we had 3 out of the 4 CL semi-finalists.
But Spanish teams have improved since then, we haven't.
It depends what is meant by the "best league in the world". The premier league is alot more exciting and unpredictable than the spanish league, that is why results such as; 8-2, 5-3, 5-2 and 6-1 occur. But in terms of quality the top spainish teams are better than the top english teams, but i'd still rather watch the excitement of the english league rather than watch barca/real thrash teams like zaragoza week in, week out
The gap between the PL and the other big leagues was wildly blown out of proportion by the media, so form that point of view yes, it was overrated. Nevertheless, you'll now start to hear a lot of statements underrating it.
Strange as it may sound, going by this season alone, the PL has on aggregate been the 2nd-best performing league in Europe.

When we talk about 'the most entertaining league in the world', it's probably the fans in asia, america or africa who see it like that.
For example, if you lived in Spain, you wouldn't care how entertaining the PL is, to you it'd just be boring because the team you support aren't in it.
I don't follow the PL because 'it's the best league in the world'. I just follow it because I'm english and arsenal play in it

No, a lot of people ni Spain follow and enjoy the PL. There's also the added spice of following the Spanish players there.
In this day and age, it's pretty easy to follow more than one league, provided you have the time of course.
Just look at the contingent of Athletic Bilbao supporters who travelled to Old Trafford. They went to see and support their team of course, but there was the added incentive for them of going to watch a top English team, a league that they greatly admire and respect.

Having more teams in the semi-finals of europe has nothing to do with being "the best league in the world". Fair enough if means they probably have the best TEAMS in europe.... but certainly not the best league.

I do live in Spain, and the coverage of the PL on normal television is rather extensive, put it this way I see the goals of the 3pm games way before I would see them on UK television.
I think also with the Europa Cup our top UK teams never take it seriously. Spurs or Man City could have at least got to the final if they really wanted to but they wasn't bothered.

True - they show more PL match highlights than they do of Spain's 2nd division.
Those that say the Spanish league is predictable are speaking nonsense, the top sides don't win 5-1/6-2 etc every week.
Real only have 2 points more than United currently have in England. While Barca have 4 points less than United currently have.
