Stefan Savic

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini claims a deal has been struck to bring defender Stefan Savic to Eastlands.

The FK Partisan defender has been a target for Mancini since the end of the season, and the Italian coach says he has no got his man.

The 20-year-old Montenegrin is highly-rated and was wanted by a number of top teams.

City appear to have won the race with an agreement now in place to sign the defender and admitted he wants to bring Arsenal star Samir Nasri to the club.

He said: "I would say a deal for Savic has been done, but Nasri? No, not yet."

And the City boss began to name-drop a number of other top players he would like to sign.

He added: "I like Ezequiel Lavezzi, Marek Hamsik and Edinson Cavani.

"I like Javier Pastore a little less.

"When I think of Udinese, I can think of Pablo Armero and Mauricio Isla.

"And I must say Antonio Di Natale. It's a pity that he is now getting on in years.

"I also liked Radja Nainggolan of Cagliari.

"Of course, I did not mention the Inter boys for whom I have a weakness. I think the ones I coached are great players."

Mancini is preparing to launch the title assault next season. I pity those who criticize his style but take their eyes away from the bigger picture. All title winning managers have one thing in common: FOCUS. Forza Roberto.

This lad is only 20 though, if we bring him in I think we will still bring in another more experienced CB, meaning the end for at least one of Boateng/Lescott/Toure.

I think given the way he played in the second half of the season, Lescott deserves to be persevered with. He started to look like the player everyone that Everton were so desperate to keep.
