Why is it the big 4

and not the big 3? As we can all see that Djokovic, Nadal and Federer are miles ahead of Murray in Slams. Is it because Murray is British that this "big 4" thing has recently appeared? I mean, say Murray was from Slovenia for example would it still be a big 4? I think it`s copying the football top 4. There is NO Champions league place in tennis though!!!!

And remember Murray was number 5 for a good part of this year with Söderling number 4, and it amazingly wasn`t called the "big 4" then.

What i`m saying is it`s not too late to win a Slam.

Spurtle, I agree with you on it being a disgrace on having only 1 player in the top 100 with Ward being next on 187. I think you go a bit when you say we haven't looked like winning one of the major events (GS) for decades as Murray has got to 3 finals.

Exiled, I don't think it is either and what I am saying is that without changes and/or some luck, Murray's time is running out.

FOURTHREE and he never took 1 set in all 3 finals. I don't believe that Murray will win a GS while there are far superior players around so the wait will go on after he retires.

Murray's best chance of winning a slam is on the hard court any way, his final appearances have all been on hard courts, I'd say the US and the Australian, his next two majors, they are key to him ever winning a slam.

Murray is really in his own class in tennis at the moment, like someone compared in football, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool, Murray is definitely Liverpool as he can get to the semis or finals of the big tournament, but never beat the men who matter.

I love reading anti Murray comments, they really make me laugh. No matter what anyone tells me, English people who are against him, its mainly because he is Scottish. Used to be the same way round with Henman, but not to the same extent as Henman was not half as good as Murray

Grass isn't his favourite surface...

I can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to say 100% that Murray will never win a GS. It's one thing mouthing off on the internet, but you all know you wouldn't bet anything on it.

His GS record is impressive, impressive enough to warrant no.4. The debate over the merits of 'big 4' has been lost in yet another Murray bashing competition.

Nah - there's the big three - then a considerable gap to the likes of Murray, Del Potro, Soderling, Tsonga (when his head is crewed on) and then another gap to the rest....

I'd agree with that. Del Potro can crack the top 3 because he has the same mental strength as them. Just a question as to whether he can physically get himself sorted again.

Murray's problem is mental. We all saw that on Friday. He cruised the 1st set. If Node/Nadal/Fed had won that 1st set in that fashion it would have been the opponent falling apart, but instead Murray and his wobbly 1st server went awol.
