Who is going down?

This is the situation as I see it at the moment. Since the start of the year there have been 5 teams at the bottom of the Premiership and for most of the season they have been by far the worst teams, you only have to look at their goal difference. I believe that these teams will finish in the bottom 5, the big question being in what order, as 3 of them will go down. This is what I think will happen.
16th WIGAN. They have come good at the right time and have produced some extraordinary results recently, beating Liverpool, MU and Arsenal. I see every reason for this form to continue to the end of the season as they must now have so much confidence.
17th QPR. Not a particularly good team but I believe the quality of their manager will see them through to safety.
18th BLACKBURN. They are continuing to have a dreadful season but can occasionally raise their game to produce an unexpectedly good result.
19th BOLTON. They have problems up front as they cannot score goals easily (none in the last 2 matches). Their defence is shaky, having let in 65 goals in the league so far this season and rarely keeping a clean sheet. Their midfield is also not great. Also the manager is out of his depth in the Premiership and has failed to motivate and get the best out of the team. In other words they are weak in every department. Compare Bolton with Wigan who are not worried about the prospect of playing one of the top teams. Their players are no better than those of Bolton but their manager gives them the confidence to go out to win every match no matter how big the team is. There is also no sign of a late season improvement with Bolton on the scale of that of Wigan. Their heavy home defeat against Fulham, a team with nothing to play for and a poor away record, was simply awful.
20th WOLVES. I believe they will produce one or more unexpectedly good results in their remaining matches, but have left it too late. They are now simply too far behind to escape relegation.

As a Bolton supporter I very much hope I am wrong in my predictions. The end of a season always produces some unexpected results and this season should be no different. Let's hope that if Coyle is unable to inspire the team at least the good news on Muamba might help. Nothing short of 6 points from the 2 games over the next few days will do.

But it's about predicting, not stating the bleeding obvious...

Predictions can change nothing needs setting in stone

I made my prediction in December and haven't changed it once - it's more fun and more satisfying that way - try it.

We have 6 games to play in a short period of time, thats either gonna take its toll on the players/squad with more injuries or fatigue, or on the other hand if the team can get a couple of early wins then we get some momentum to the end of the season and keep us up.

I honestly think we could only win 1 more game and stay up, fancy QPR to lose their final 4 games..no one is going to play half heartedly against them now teams know they can beat you.

Um, I wish I was this optimistic! QPR are going to get atleast a point versus a deflated out of form/luck Spurs team.

So, on that basis, we'll need atleast 4 even if they lose all their other games.

I'm not resigned to going down, but the more I think about our financial situation, the more I think going down might be needed. Yes it would take us to the edge of existence, but it would spark the needed restructuring and re-thinking of how we run our football club.
