Afternoon everyone.
I keep hearing this phrase branded about recently. "Our games in hand are winnable games", "all the games we have left are winnable".
Well, yes. In a way, that suggestion rings true. Heck, every game is 'winnable'. Some are just less likely than others. Also, added into the mix now is the facts that Wigan and Blackburn have taken points from these games. "Wigan are playing well and winning games against good teams now", "Blackburn took points off United", etc etc.
Well guess what. We aren't Wigan and we aren't Blackburn. If we continue to compare ourselves with them, in some wierd logic, some would be expecting, not hoping, expecting, that we beat the likes of City and United, because "other teams have". It just doesn't work like that.
It is vital that we concentrate on our performances. Which, by the way, is something that Wigan seem to have done recently.
Also, this stuff about games in hand. We are 18th. Our games in hand are against people above us. At the top of the league, teams are expected to win games in hand - that's why they are top. We are 18th for a reason. Whether we have games in hand or not, it is still difficult to win them, simply because we are carp.
Just wanted to give a little perspective before people start whinging that we lose to the likes of Swansea, who are extremely difficult to beat. Some fans have this thought that because they only came up last year, we should be battering them.

I think what some people needing reminding of is that we are all Bolton fans. It's just that one or two seem to be putting Coyle ahead of Bolton.
I'm a Bolton fan, not a Coyle fan and if it is in Boltons' best interest that Coyle goes and finds his 20th club, so be it.
If we go down under his "watch", I want a new era with a man capable of getting us there and keeping us in the Prem and competing with teams we have for 10 years.

Bricks, I was just about to write a comment about what both sides of the debate say to each other, you have just provided my example .....
I support Bolton, not Coyle, I'll was a Bolton fan before Coyle, I'll be one afterwards. I personally find it ridiculous that you are attempting to paint some Coyle supporters as not proper Bolton fans ....

That comment sums up why it's so difficult to have a discussion with you, Bricks.

Yet you don't find it difficult with having a discussion with someone who accuses fellow fans of wanting Bolton to go down.
The mind boggles sometimes!

Where did I say I supported HH's comment? I don't. I simply said this forum is full of sly digs, and then as if to prove it, you came along and suggested some people put Coyle above BWFC, which is just silly.

It strikes me that we are now so split into our two camps, it will be almost impossible to debate from now until we know our fate. Then there will be a period of 'I told you so', until the dust settles and we start to look forward to the summer transfers and the new season.
I get Mallorca, FirstOf and Petrov now, and therefore can debate fairly successfully with them despite our very different views.
Bricks, I find you much more of an enigma, and haven't fully worked out where you are coming from at times. You are obviously passionate as your planned attendance at 5 of our next 6 games clearly shows. But sometimes you come across as so money-oriented. Maybe I am missing something, but I DO agree with the Bolton are the most important thing argument. Coyle will one-day go, hopefully later rather than sooner. BWFC will carry on, and that matters more to me than anything.

I'm not saying that people will be happy if we got relegated, or should support some else etc,
I'm merely stating I think the mentality of a few posters on here, and on twitter aswell, is that we're already relegated, but it appears they almost want it just so they can satisfy their needs an opinions. Bricks for example has a clear agenda against Coyle, that's obvious through his exclamation Fergie deserves MOTM after Coyle won it. I'm not suggesting people actually WANT us to be relegated, but the mentality I'm seeing is very odd, I'd rather see someone trying to offer constructive criticism..rather than having a dig about Coyle, players etc and even calling me for example a 'blind lover' of Coyle, which in itself is ridiculous considering I've criticised him myself, however I'm able to see both sides.

I do get impression some fans would want us relegated just to satisfy themselves accordingly on Maslow's Hieracrhy of Needs. Perhaps a large portion of our fans do have the attitude that Trig described yesterday?
Sad very sad.

Make your mind up HH??
