YOU HAVE RYO
That in itself is cause for celebration
Ryo will save you
Just in relation to your last paragraph, is anyone seriously thinking that?
Norwich have done the double over us, Swansea have already beaten us in the league and our games in hand are away to Villa (Beat us at home), and Spurs chasing 4th...
Nothing from Fulham and Newcastle has put the pressure back on us..
But if we want premiership football, then frankly Swansea do need to be beaten tomorrow..
^^^^ RYO is a decent player, the only issues with him for me are the fact he looks 'lightweight' recently.
not lightweight in the sense that he gets pushed over by 'bigger boys', think Bambi, with a broken pelvis, trying to run down a bob-sleigh run covered in diesel... when its raining!
THAT lightweight.
TRR. I think this season will define where a number of teams are going.
Wigan: go to Fulham with whisperings that some of their players are looking at moves away over the summer, but that could just be paper talk, however a defeat could bring Wigan back down to earth with a bump - how will they will respond?
Villa: MON returns to his previous employers and a defeat for the Midlands side and a defeat to us would pull them right down into the middle of the scrap for survival.
QPR: Face a Spurs side that has been on the slide, but QPR could face a Spurs FA cup backlash. A defeat to Spurs and then a defeat to Chelsea could spell the end for their season.
Us: This weekend imo is the most important weekend for us. A win and we go into the VIlla game on a high. If we lose to Swansea I fear that we won;t be in any frame of mind to get anything from Villa and could spell the end for us (end used losely - end of our survival hopes)
I think Blackburn will beat Norwich this weekend and look to pull themselves back out of it.
Yes, I'm very nervous about all the fixtures on Saturday. Biggest day of the season so far.
MT, I might've exaggerated a little, but here are a few comments from another thread.
"Well if we can't win this, we have a spineless bunch of players who will most likely be and deserve to be in the Championship next season, back where most of them came from actually."
and...
"If Swansea at the Reebok has become a tough game Rowbot, it's definately time to pack this Prem lark in and admit we are a Championship side."
Ok, so the poster didn't say we should 'batter' them. But I think that he is being a bit disrespectful to how good Swansea actually are.
Can we leave the Ryo debate alone? It's not really relevant to this article and I was thinking about deleting the first post for this reason.
Sounds like you're getting excuses ready TRR??
If we win, it will put us one behind Swansea in victories all season (10-11).. They've been nice to watch, but lost 10 on the road..
But......... We've been more than capable of gifting teams points all season, which is where the worry comes from...
I wouldn't say Swansea are rubbish etc, players deserve XYZ if we lose... But if we want to survive, OC will have looked at this as a home win.. 'No Question'!
What excuses?
I do't have any. I think we should beat Swansea and Coyle certainly will be looking at this fixture to get some points. But that does not mean it is as simple as that.
This article is just about getting the balance right between expectation and realism. On this board at the moment, those two variables seem miles apart.
Can we leave the Ryo debate alone? It's not really relevant to this article and I was thinking about deleting the first post for this reason.
........
sorry I was responding to the gooner...
Robot, correct - all games ARE winnable.
its just that the current trend this season with us (Bolton) and the way our rivals seem to be getting points that would be considered 'less probable' ...i just think it spells disaster for us.
I would LOVE to be proven a total idiot with that theory though when we get 12 points from our last games!
You're playing down people's expectations of a win tomorrow then saying we should win...?
I'm just confused.
Done it again, MT.
The final sentence of that paragraph explains 'it isn't as simple as that'. I am simply suggesting that peoples expectations don't match up with reality.
People think that a win is a given, saying that we should give up if we lose. Suggesting that if we can't beat Swansea then there is no hope for us. I am saying that people are underestimating Swansea and lots of other teams too.
We are 18th because we are rubbish. As I see it, we have no divine right to beat anyone above us, because, essentially, they are better than us. I just think that if we do lose vs Swansea, people will be whinging like normal, blindly overlooking the fact that Swansea are higher than us in the table, have got more points and are generally better than us.
Done what again TRR?
Cut the personal rubbish and actually answer the points?? If I'm confused by your posts, I've not done anything again...
You've predicted a defeat and said on here we should be beating them!
You've said we are 18th and rubbish and various other things..
The problem is I've no idea what point you're making?
QPR beat Swansea 3-0 in their last away game. Is that something we should not look at?
What isn't as simple as what? We all know this, we have looked at the league table. It's why I wanted Coyle out in December. Swansea are beatable but we are rubbish. Is that the point?
NSMFF I think TRR is saying that while we SHOULD win tomorrow it isn't a given and that we shouldn't be too surprised if we don't because Swansea are a very good side with a very good manager.
However I for one believe we WILL win this one. I also believe that Norwich will get something from the rovers match. QPR will get buried IMO by a Spurs side that will want to return to the Champions League all the more after their defeat to chelsea in the semi-final.
I also suspect that Villa will be beaten by both MON's Sunderland AND us which would put us on thirty five points alongside them.
It may sound over optimistic but I believe that we have a slight edge in that some of our players have been in this kind of fight before and won while the likes of villa have no experience of a real dogfight and QPR have a nightmare run in. Wigan will also survive IMO as they have hit form at the perfect time.

Peter I always welcome your posts, positive and clear to understand...
I'm glad you got the point, I didn't.
It's the 2nd post in an hour TRR has appeared personal.. I wanted to understand his actual point before I made mine... I didn't want confusion or devils advocate twice in a row...
PS; Peter, call me Mallorca....
My saying we 'should' win is a mistake on my behalf. Sorry. I didn't really think about that properly. I believe we could win, as every game in winnable, but it is unlikely, given our poor performances this season and Swanseas good performances. Hence my prediction of a loss.
What I am saying that beating Swansea isn't as simple as people think. Fans aren't really giving Swansea much credit and think we should be beating them easily.
As for the 'winnable' games. Well, like I said, some fans expectations are miles off the reality.
Also, I really don't think I was being personal, certainly not in an offensive manner anyway.
I just thought that twice you were very selective about your answer to quotations from other posters to help prove your point, given that in both cases, the following sentences actually cleared the issue up completely.
Sorted..
Sorry for the confusion pal...
Don't you just love Friday afternoons before an important match on the Saturday?
I've got that itchy, tetchy, irritable and excited feeling all over. Probably could do with some cream for it really.
Mallorca, I think you will win comfortably tomorrow. Swansea are poor away and have zero to play for. On another subject I see your esteemed Chairman has endorsed `Arry for the England job. Is this a master stroke by PG in advance of your game with Spurs or am being cynical ?
Well we need to step up over the next two games,
the form for the 3 teams,
played won drawn lost points
Bolton 8 3 0 5 9
Swansea 8 4 0 4 12
Villa 8 1 4 3 7
I fancy a victory at the Reebok, 1-0, and a 0-0 draw at Villa.
Hello FC,
I don't share your confidence for tomorrow, but I hope you're right with the result.
Regarding Gartside and his comments, I'm not sure how to take them... The relationship between us and Spurs has never been so good after their brilliance during the Muamba incident.. The other thing I can see from this, is Spurs being unhappy if it disrupts them on the pitch.!?
Gartside does say and do strange things from time to time... This is one of them... He's not on the 4 man panel though, so it's just opinion I guess, just strange timing....
Ps: anyone know which 4 men are qualified enough to name and recommend the man to lead the English football team? Incidentally, we are making a massive mistake with Arry... IMO...
My panel would be Me, Mallorca, Pie ( Rovers board) and a sober Sir Alex Ferguson. Now that would be fun !
Who actually are the 4 just men ?
Finally, not making any appointment at all is the biggest mistake ( even bigger than firing FC ). Even if their number one choice wants to finish the season at his club, he could still be appointed with a start date of xx.
But this is the appropriately named FA we are talking about.
