The third good signing of the summer.
Well done Meggo!
Bennett signs!

I suppose it is a bit unfair to toss JJ in with the others, but the reason I did so was due to the fact he only plays 15 full games a season and out of those he only shows up 8/9 times so to really have this guy re-sign is ridiculous. We are chasing promotion not mediocrity

Can't disagree there JJ can terrifying, but as always you don't know which JJ you're getting until he's on the pitch and the good JJ comes at a low ratio lol
We need more irons in the fire, I know some of this is due to our severe lack of scouting network, but hopefully by next season we'll have implemented a system where the manager himself doesn't have to travel up and down the country watching a player once and signing him ( like Irvine) the current squad should have the gaffers undivided attention.. another problem we seem to have had

"but Meggy has to get him doing that for 46 FULL games, next season."
You simply cannot expect that & to do so is unfair.
The very best don't perform to their best week in week out.
If JJ was consistent in both performance & end product he'd never have been near Hillsborough.
You simply have to take the rough with the smooth but I agree we do need to see more from him than we did last season, in both number of apps & performance levels.
That's why we need more pace in the squad because it's unfair to put all your eggs in the JJ basket. Dyer would help balance that workload!
He's still a player I'd rather have in our team rather than the oppositions though!

Monster, for the second time today I am with you on a subject!! If JJ plays every game next season then I think if we saw the magical talent we know he has on 10-12 occasions then we would be in good shape. He is a match winning type player and we need him to do that in those games where it is 1-1 or we are losing by the odd goal, that where he can and should make the difference.
If we can get Dyer, then sharing the load will be a huge benefit to the team. If they both perform miracles 10 times each then nearly half the seasons games are potentially wins or at least draws instead of losses. Thats an improvement from last year.
Resigning JOC is still a bit of a mystery to me but keeping JJ I think was an obvious thing to do. As for Sedgewick, he is under contract so unless someone comes in for him as happened to Teale, then we are stuck with him. On his day though, he is still someone who can add to the squad, even if he does not start often.

Because he's a moron. If that's a good enough reason for you.
