well done Meggy, now for Semedo, Dyer ect please!! So glad that Meggy is abit more careful with who he signs not like Irvine last year who, as it seems was just signing players for the sake of it and not looking at areas that needed improving, JOC Potter and Miller should have been moved on when we went down and only Coke came in for CM when a complete overhaul was needed, now Meggy has recognised this and got rid of the likes of Potter, Miller and Teale (Perhaps Sedgwick and defo JOC should have been amongst them) and is now lookin to strenthen them with players who WILL improve like Semedo and Koumas, be fanstatic if we got those two in but wouldnt be the end of the world either as we have Coke, Jesus and Palmer too already with JOC also there if we are desperate e.g all of the above are injured. Plus selling Spurr was needed to generate funds for the likes of Bennet who will replace Spurr obviously with Buxton and Jones (Both versatile) as back up, now our defence is sorted we should look to finishing off the midfeild with Semedo, Koumas and Dyer and perhaps another right winger then bring in Mellor and a young nippy Prem striker on loan, say Ecclestone from Liverpool and we'll be ready.
Keep up the good work Meggy
only Coke came in for CM when a complete overhaul was needed
---------------------------
By that I mean a overhaul in Midfeild as that was the area that we have lacked for a few years before
Good that we've finally signed a proper fullback.
No lets hope that he can stay fit & injury free.
I'm hearing he's played a few games at centre half!
Thank god there's a few owls left who don't believe good management requires a machine gun approach to transfers.
Three signings that i'm more than happy with. Three more in the right places and i think we're good to go (CF, MF, Winger IMO)
Agreed, just like I said yesterday in my article..... progress is being made and not knee jerk fan signings for the sake of signing people!

on topic again my friend, this is becoming a habit!
i_monster, a good mate of mate has unfortunately been a season ticket holder at walsall for 10 years, he is gutted they couldn't get him back there.
And you're right, he started off there as a Centre Half!
He seems to think he'll be a fantastic signing, however, sounds like Tommy Spurr in disguise.
Puts in 100% and used to be a CH........... Still think he's a good signing, I just hope he can recreate his form of old for us!
Gave my Forest mate a call about Bennett. I was expecting him to say he was mediocre last season to have been let go on a free and dropped a division.
What he actually said was much more encouraging. He said "Bennett is a championship standard player, I'm surprised and disappointed he's moved on. He wasn't first choice right back because he didn't have the attacking qualities required, but if you want a solid dependable right back to help you with a promotion push you've got yourself and excellent player."
Sounds very promising The first optimism of summer!
He's a LB Pat!
The reports I've heard is a very quick, no nonsense defender, a positive signing
Even better! That was my mistake not his by the way, I misquoted his reply (like a moron).

Fair point Mostly, only you're missing a couple of points here, 1. How many people on parson's cross have electricity let alone a computer AND internet and 2. you could always comment on the articles on YOUR board..... if anyone wrote any!
Your lads are all too busy sulking and feeling sorry for themselves to even pass in conversation!
Bit of irony there offtopic!
Probably not half as long as if you were waiting on your own board eh topic, were you aware you actually had one?
Getting back to the less cranially challenged amongst us. Must admit that I don't know a huge amount about Bennett, but what little I've read about him seems pretty good so I'm looking forward to seeing him in the side next season. Perhaps now we've signed someone and given that there will hopefully be more to follow, some of the perenially depressed amongst us can stop tearing their hair out about who's been offered what extension and who's turned us down etc etc and concentrate on the important things like getting behind GM for what will doubtless be another typical rollercoaster Wednesday roadshow between August and May.
Up the owls!!!!
You know what, it wouldnt suprise me the 'I live in Me-hi-co' is a bit of a fib, you just never never know with Imre, but still, GO AND CRY WITH YOUR FELLOW SQUEELERS IF THERE IS ANY TO CRY WITH
Owls sign defender.
Fans of defender's ex-club has nothing but good things to say.
8 games later, defender is garbage & we need to get rid.
