Wenger's Cheap Dream Team

*ribbit*

So I was thinking about the Real Madrid team that spectacularly crashed out of the Champions League last night, despite having the "World's Greatest Manager" and spending more money on players than your average country does on education.

This got me onto how Wenger's best signing's have been incredibly cheap. Despite his tactical flaws, when it comes to signing talent the man is an absolute genius.

So here's my best 11 of Arsene Wenger's players he has bought into the team.

Note. This is done PURELY ON TALENT, irrespective of cost. Which is why this list is so amazing.

Gk - Sir Chesney - Free
RB - Sagna - £6m
CB - Campbell - Free
CB - Toure - £150k
LB - Cashley - Free
RM - Freddie - £3m
CM - Viera - £3.5m
CM - Fabregas - Free
LM - Pires - £6m
ST - Henry - £11m
ST - RVP - £2.75

Total Cost - £32.4m

That's not just good. IT'S ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!

Arsene signed his best 11 players for less than Liverpool paid for Andy Caroll. Sorry I couldn't resist but

Also around 10% of Real Madrid's team, I think.

Wenger

Also sorry for the lack of input recently A-Levels really take up your time!

Neville - free
Bruce - 800k
Pallister - 2.3m
Irwin - 600k

I somehow don't think these are the best Man Utd players in their respective positions that Fergie has bought in!

For Ferguson's team surely you'd put ferdinand or vidic in CB. Then Rooney upfront, then instead of Beckham or Giggs put ronaldo in midfield. To make perhaps his best team. Therefore Would make it more expensive than arsenal. Wengers bargain team would beat that man u team.

Stil Ferguson's is not that bad. But Wenger's is better.

Dont be stupid people

Rooney over Cantona Ask United fans who they would deem Fergies's best striekrs were and not many would have Rooney.

Also, Neville and Irwin are our 2 best full backs over the last 2 decades. Did any of you even watch Bruce and Pallister, they were on par with Vidic and Ferdinand as a partnership.

Admittedly, you could stick Vidic in there, even then, he only cost £7mil

Smalling_Jones' team is spot on, and arguably as good as Wenger's team. Only 4 players might have a say on getting in that team and that's Rio, Vidic, Stam and Parker. Even the, Bruce and Pallister was a phenominal partnership. Rooney wouldn't get near a best Ferguson 11.

Still Fergie has had a lot longer. Also Man Utd, go away. This is an appreciation of Arsenal. How much success do you need before you stop trouncing on everyone else's!

Sorry, I saw the article and was going to comment, then saw Smalling_Jones' one and thought I'd give my opinion on that, and then forgot about the OP.

Credit to Wenger, he really has found some gems. It's shame he hasn't been able to find as many recently - that's not a dig at him or Arsenal by the way, just an observation of his transfers.

If you were to merge the 2 teams, Id say there'll be mroe United players than Arsenal ones

Here's mine, money no option, and based on what would make the best partnerships accross the pitch:

Schmeichel
Neville Rio Vidic Cole
Ronaldo Scholes Keane Pires
Bergkamp Henry

Bergamp, Henry, Pires and Cashley were unstoppable down that left wing. Neville, Rio and Vidic are less attacking and would allow Ronaldo more freedom. Scholes and Keane speaks for itself as a midfield duo, and Schmeichel is one of the greatest ever.

If we are talking TRANSFERS surely players promoted through the youth academy shouldn't count? Just an observation.

Both good teams
