Had this Podolski signing happened last season or the season before, I'd be literally wetting myself in excitement. I would get nice feelings in places.
I feel no sense of happiness whatsoever. Wenger has made me this way because of his constant promises of a "Big Summer" only to find out we've signed Jenkinson.
Normally I'd be an emotional wreck when we lose a match but after that United battering I've learned to be emotionally dead to any matches we lose and essentially not to give a damn and move on.
I get no butterflies ahead of the big games like I used to.

Remember Mata? I actually believed that we signed him. Only to find Chelsea got him the last minute. All because Wenger refused to chuck in the extra packet of crisps Valencia were demanding!!
This is why I refuse to believe the Podolski signing until I see him play for us in an Arsenal shirt for one half of a match. Until then...I REFUSE TO BELIEVE!!!!

I know what you mean but this signing is official. The Mata deal was never confirmed as 'done'.
I feel this may be Wenger's only high profile signing and it would just be typical. The same way I thought Nasri and Arshavin signings were going to change our direction but same old stuff happened

I kinda agree. On one hand, i'm very happy at the signing of a top international quality player, but on the other, i'm thinking to myself will wenger consider this as his transfer work done?
We still another midfield powerhouse likely to challenge Song for his position. People on waffling on about how we're covered in the midfield area, but then lament the lack of options come match day with Arteta out.

I have a feeling that AW has decided / learnt that he must get some quality in and quickly..... I think we will see a new policy this summer. I still feel that another 2 players are on their way.

IF reports are correct, then Wenger is already sweet on Vertonghen and M/Vila. Even the thought that we might be in for these two are making my mouth water.
Wenger could do himslef a favour and get rid of the misfiring Arshavin and bring in a AM or Winger as well.

Am I the only one that doesn't want M'vila. I'd rather we stock up on CBs that can play as a fill-back as well.
We need to concentrate more on getting a new creative midfielder.

I can understand people showing a certain restraint when it comes to Arsene's transfer dealings, but if you can't get jazzed when we actually make a bona fide, genuine quality signing, then when can you?

There's very rarely smoke without fire with a lot of transfer stories. I genuinely believe that we are in for M'Vila and Vertonghen, but in the past we haven't had the funds to buy players like them. Now we seem to be a bit more willing to do business at the £15-20m mark, so I'm expecting a couple more big signings and whatever young talent Wenger spots.

Martinez has been touted as being a £32m fall-back option if £22m M'Vila decides to go elsewhere.
Now I realise the fees quoted could quite easily just be pie-in-the-sky media-manufactured figures, but I think we can all agree that there's little chance of Arsene spending that sort of money on any player, let alone one that's not his first choice.
