I've been reading some of the comments you guys have posted today, about how top4 was the aim this year and how you aren't even competing for it in the business end of the season and your various opinions on what needs to be done. But I think Liverpool have missed a golden opportunity because barring United and City none of the other top teams have done nearly as well as they would've hoped in the league.
And worryingly for Liverpool I actually think next year will be even tougher to make top 4 because I expect Arsenal and Chelsea to come back much stronger.
If Arsenal keep RVP and make a couple of new signings like they're rumoured to be doing then they could put in a serious title challenge.
If Torres rediscovers his Liverpool form and Roman splashes the cash again (there's no reason why he won't) Chelsea will surely be back in the mix and once again challenging for the title.
I'm not a Liverpool fan but I'm not trying to wum either. But imagine if the league was to end tomorrow. You have the exact same team that you have now and the 2012/2013 season was approaching. Would you feel more confident or less confident about your chances of finishing in the top four than you did last summer??
If the answer is less confident then serious questions need to be asked.
Have the signings moved Liverpool backwards?
Top 4

I think he's crap in the centre. He's wasted there.
I like his runs down the right personally
A player is a right mid for 19.5 years, then due to injuries gets used as cover at centremid for 9 months.
Now he's a centremid and always has been.
whatever.

Be ashamed, be very ashamed.

Henderson is wasted on the right. Especially when we live in a day and age that every fullback has pace to burn.
He neither has the pace nor trickery to beat his fullback and drops so deep because of our inept midfield.
He is much better in the centre where he has more options to choose from and that engine of his can be put to very good use.
Also those one touch passes of his can be put to very good use in the middle than on the right.

like I said TOOR, ask a Sunderland supporter.
He was always a right mid.
This centremid role is new to him and he's just learning it.
Not opinion, just a fact.
Maybe the centre will be where he ends up, maybe not. We use him in both.

nice one
"In the 2009–10 season, Henderson broke into the Sunderland first team and made several Premier League appearances. He scored his first senior goal for the club against Birmingham City in the Carling Cup third round.[11] He then went on to score his first Premier League goal against Manchester City on 19 December 2009.[12]
Henderson spent the majority of the season on the right side of midfield but played centrally in the absence of Lee Cattermole; his versatility and consistency earning him a new five year contract on 23 April 2010, keeping him with the club till 2015.[13] He also went on to win the Young Player of the Year award for the 2009–10 season.[

Everybody knows this redconn. As I said most young central players ply their trade on the outside gaining experience where their mistakes are less important, until they are ready for the centre, which looks to be the case with Henderson now, as he captained England U21's into a major tournament in central midfield and has played well in most games played in the centre for us and looked out of place on the right.

so we're in agreement
He's a right mid who's been used in the centre to cover injuries due to his versatility.
Pearce used him as a pure DM to cover for Smalling and Jones if they went forward and to act as protection for the back 4. Is he a DM now too?

Obviously not.

I've explained why I believe this to be wrong, so there's no point going over and over it.
"Pearce used him as a pure DM to cover for Smalling and Jones if they went forward and to act as protection for the back 4. Is he a DM now too?"
No he didn't. He used him as a central midfielder. Just because he wasn't an attacking midfielder doesn't mean he was a defensive midfielder. I watched every game and despite people ridiculing Henderson's performances in the competition, he actually did very well in the centre. Passed the ball very well, kept possession and showed a great engine, getting up and down the pitch.

I'm done. You haven't even come close to convincing me and vice versa.
