2 more rejected bids for Nicky

2 more rejected bids for NM from a championship club that made a bid before.
Looks like the Foxes are trying to prise Nicky away again since they lost out on CMS who has now gone to Brighton for 3.25Mil these transfer fees must make Nickys value higher in the eyes of the board.
However the chairman has said once more they do not wish to sell NM and especially do not wish to sell him to a rival Championship club.
Talks are still ongoing with NM's agent.

I think he is holding out for a prem club to snap him up which will be better for us with regard to tranfser fees.
20% of which i'm guessing will go to crewe.
If he doesn't sign by the start of the season we will have to off load him in the january window or he will walk away on a free. I hope he signs personally we need a 20+ goals a season striker if we want to push on.

No doubting the contributions of Stead and Albert Fordy.
However, redrobbin probably has it right in that NM would possibly be the player to make the difference.

I have to say, if he does stay with us, with the firepower we have now, plus Albert and Bolasie/Woolford and Kilkenny supplying the ammunition, it is frightening to think how many goals he could get. He must wonder that himself surely!

Well looking at the transfer fees for proven goal scorers the prices are going up and up I would guess that if NM does leave it will be to QPR or perhaps Norwich of the promoted clubs but I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Wolves came in with a player plus cash deal for him.

The club will not sell him to another championship club Nicky himself doesnt want to go to another championship club Leicester bid this time was for 4.7 mil & still we wont sell him. Nicky wants a prem club and they would have to buy for 5mil. If Nicky signes a new contract with us for say another 2 years it will be with Nicky's personal terms basicaly saying if a prem club comes knocking on the door whithin his contract time & he wants to go then regardless of how much he will want to go & have that put in his revised contract with us thats the word on the street & makes sense on why its taking a bit of time to sort out...

Much as I want to see NM shining in the Premiership, it will still be a huge b u m m e r when he does go. Maybe we now have the firepower to compensate, but he is one exciting player, and it would have been good to see him operating alongside the others for one season at least.

Fact is, the opportunity is there now for him to sign a decent contract, fire us into the Premiership, and become a legend to rank alongside our best ever players. If he takes that option of course....

Don't be shocked if we come back again with another bid as apparently we were always in for both strikers CMS and NM. Sven has been told he has as much money as he needs to get promotion.

Bear in mind that NM had a big injury last season to go with a big injury a couple of years ago, so who's to say he may not have another one. I would not mind a fee of around the £3-3.5M with a player coming in and a sell on clause. The real value in a deal now is that if NM improves andgoes for big money we still get a slice. Right now there is no way a Prem club will pay little old us in excess of £5M for him.

IMO I would not want anything less than 7.5 mil for him.
With the silly money some are paying for good strikers, I'd say Nicky is worth every penny.

Having said that, I stand by my earlier comment, if we are looking to progress, it's players like Nicky that we should be building our team around, not letting go.

It seems like Leicester have money to burn as Reading have accepted £5m for Mills. It will be interesting to see how high they will go for Nicky to test our resolve. Hopefully the club will stand firm but everybody has their price.
I guess now Leicester will be the club everyone else hopes trips up as they look ready to outdo the likes of West Ham even. Whatever happens we always knew it was gonna be a hard division again and I am sure there will still be room for a dark horse. Please let it be us.

Yes Nicky has had 2 injuries he came back from the first one fine and his form after his last injury was better than before if you look at goals to matches ratio.
Also as we don't know what the sell on clause to Crewew says if its 20% of the next sale then 3Million only just about gets our money back. Plus it dependes on who the player is that is being offered we don't need players other teams want to get rid of (Nicky Hunt ring any bells, we now know why Bolton didn't offer him a new contract he can only play the big Sam way)
