My first ever footy match was as a 10 year old, back in 1971. Bristol City played out a 0-0 draw against Brum. I was smitten for life.
Me and my dear old dad lived the dream in 1975, first with a cup run, then the best City side in living memory ascended to live with the big boys. It was a time for heroes and close calls, and we hung on. What followed afterwards tested the most die-hard of fans, but in the last decade the Reds have been resurgent. If only Steve Lansdown had been around in 1980...
