Here's a few points here to consider...
Monaco 2011 - Jenson Button was leading the race by a mile having done 2 stints on the super-soft tyres. His current tyres were getting worn and was about to make his second pit-stop of the afternoon. However, instead of being put on soft tyres, he was given another set of super-softs, meaning that he would've been forced to make another pit-stop which would have cost him the victory, even if the red flag hadn't come out and benefitted Vettel and Alonso like it did.
Britain 2011 - When making his second scheduled pit-stop, Button's car was released before the mechanics were able to secure a wheel-nut properly. Button was forced to retire when the offending wheel fell off on the pit lane exit.
Germany 2011 - About halfway through the race, Jenson Button was told to come into the pits and retire his car due to a "hydraulics failure". Lewis Hamilton went on to win the race.
Belgium 2011 - A shower of rain had affected the qualifying during the first session. Although the track was still damp in Q2, it was getting drier and faster as the session went on. Although everyone had set a timed lap at the beginning of the session, they all went out for a second run towards the end when the track was dry and lap times were even faster. Button however, was ordered to stay in the pits after just one run early in the session. He had to start 13th on the grid.
Abu Dhabi 2011 - For about 10 laps of the race, Button was forced to drive without KERS due to a system failure, while his team-mate went flying off into the lead.
Malaysia 2012 - After a collision with a Hispania, Button came in for repairs to his front wing. However, the team decided to also change the tyres he had completed 2 laps on, which actually cost him more time than if he just changed the wing.
China 2012 - When making his final scheduled pit-stop, Button was held up in the pits due to one of the pit crew not attaching a wheel properly. Although he still finished 2nd in the race, that pit stop error robbed him of the chance to challenge Nico Rosberg for the win.
Does it not baffle anyone else that the conspiracy theorists always seem to forget that these things ever happened when throwing their unfounded accusations of sabotage at Whitmarsh?
McLaren in 2011 and 2012

I find it funny that people think whitmarsh does things to hinder as he probably only keeps his job if the team are doing well.

hafijur, so question is, is he doing well? Take all of TallUselessAndCluess's list add it up to all the strategic blunders on Hamilton's side and tell me is this the man for this job?

I doubt he is responsible for the strategy himself as mclaren are a big team.

all the strategic blunders on Hamilton's side
---------------------------------------------------
They're actually about the same.
It's not the team's fault that Hamilton spent most of 2011 unable to go 5 laps without hitting another driver.

There is no conspiracy or favouritism.
There is a considerable falling of standards caused by weak management of the team by Whitmarsh.
In 2012 every single race has been ruined by incompetence of the team.
How come Ferrari (a bunch of spaghetti throwers) out perform McLaren in pit stops?
Ron Dennis was removed by Whitmarsh because Ron was renowned for his attention to detail. Whitmarsh ruined the first race of this season because he could not calculate the fuel loads.

I've been watching replays of the 04 and 05 seasons recently, i forgot just how unlucky Kimi was.
The relibility was dreadful and finger trouble was the cause of a few retirements.
Basically the team makes mistakes, everyone does, but there is no way Mclaren have ever disadvantaged one of there drivers on purpose.
Lewis and Jenson should consider themselves lucky, if they had Kimi's reliability record from his McLaren days they'd be going crazy.

In 2005 Kimi retired from 5 races whilst in the lead... all not his fault.
Ron's McLaren made as many mistakes as Martin's

The point to consider is Mclaren are essentially flying the flag for britain and have a huge media circus around them, there mistakes are massively highlighted over other teams, the same as ferrari in italy and spain.
no conspiracies

Both drivers have been let down by their team. The Mclaren team needs a kick up the backside.
They've finally designed a championship winning car and they are scrwing things up for their drivers

I reckon hamilton could get 10th and Button could get 3rd.
