A timeless wonder= Federer and on the other side Rafa is already showing the signs of cracking. 2011 Rafa made 4 clay masters finals and winning one. Although he managed to win Monte Carlo however he has lost Madrid and Miami before reaching to the finals.
Federer will become no. 2 again if he manages to win against Berdych. A stellar performance by a player who is already in his 30s. Rafa fans once thought that their wonder boy will overcome the 16 slams but that seems to be a distant shot now. Clay used to be bastion of Rafa but he seems to slipping his ground rapidly here as well. RG12 might be the last slam chance for Rafa as he is not the kind of player he used to be. Those 7 final losses against Djoko have dented his psyche to a great extent. Although he won Monte Carlo but the court was dead and Djoko was not in his element too and to be honest which other court in the world plays like that.
RG 12, if draws work out right then it will be Nadal vs Djoko in SF however after rafa's loss against Verdasco another early loss will not be surprising.
Long live TMF!
A tale of two players

Yes I found that article too. But I believe he would play Rome. Getting #2 seeding in RG is very important for winning it.

He got some medecine after the first set? Is he already injured after this long break? I thought some of his mouvement was slow but was not sure whether it was the blue clay or something else.

Where you seriously thinking that Nadal or Nole had a chance to adapt fast enough to win this event?
-------------------------------
Well back then I thought they woudl only have to adapt to the colour..nothing else. So well done.....even if he was so close to get out to Rao!

Berdych will replace Ferrer at no.5?

Tsonga is at number 5 anyway. I believe Berdych stays at 7.

Actually the answer to that is in the excellent point tracer thread and yes Tsonga is 5th and Berd at 7th, 50 its behind Ferrer!
