It looks like Sir Alex Ferguson has finally done what all Manchester United fans have been begging for - found someone who will take Republic of Eire "star" Darren Gibson.
Albeit he had to throw in big John O'shea and Wes Brown to seal the deal but still great news for Man United fans everywhere, i will definatley be renewing my membership this season after this delightful news.
After a miserable 47 games in over SEVEN YEARS Gibson will get the chance to show what he can do and justify his "starman" status the Republic of Eire fans have seemingly given him and add to the 13 caps he has already gained with his adopted nation.
Gibson eventually shiped out

Still cant get past the fact he would be well behind Davis and Brunt in our team ?
No surprise really

Gibson, Davis and Brunt......3 average players....one trying to prove he is not like Darren Potter, the other two happy in their mediocrity.

Derek stop kidding yourself. Davis only plays in the SPL and coudn't make it in the Premiership .
Brunt plays for West Brom!!
What have either of them done lately for NIreland.
As Dublondain said Brunt, Davis and Gibson are all average players. All roughly the same standard.
If Worthington is willing to select a teenager who has never made a first team appearence for Wolves what makes you think he wouldn't select a player who has played nearly 50 times for Man Utd and scored a goal in the Champions league Semi-Final!!!

v Faroes - Taylor, McAuley, Jonathan Evans, Craigan, Hughes, Baird, Davis, McGinn, Brunt, Feeney, Lafferty
v Italy - Taylor, McAuley, Hughes, Craigan, J Evans, Brunt , Baird, Davis, McCann , Feeney, Healy
v Slovenia (away) - Taylor, McAuley, Cathcart, Craigan, Baird, Davis, McCann, Healy, Feeney, Brunt, Hughes
Gibson would've played in every one of those games if he was available to Worthington. That's without taking friendlies into account. Take a look at your team and tell me you honestly believe that they could afford to leave out a Manchester United player (all be it fringe) with Champion's League experience. Do you in all seriousness think Darron Gibson wouldn't be a regular in the NI team?! Like really???!!!

Looking at the players Worthington has at his disposal i kind of feel sorry for them in a way.
Craigan,Cathcart,Baird,Mc Cann, Feeney,Healy - good god and these are all regulars!!

Has Gibson actually gone to Sunderland??? I was watching Sky Sports News there and they said O'Shea and Brown had gone, but not a word on Gibbo.

Gibson won't be going anywhere until one of Sneijder or Nasri are signed
Simple case of Fergie making sure he doesn't make himself short of numbers.
