I think its good news for Gibson. Everyone knows he's not good enough to become a regular at a team like United so for him to be signed up by another Premiership side is great.

Derek no i wouldn't say he is neccesarily better than Davis or Brunt. But he would be a better player than other NIreland midfielders such as Clingan, Mc Ginn and the overhyped Mc Court . Not to mention Johnny Gorman.

I wouldn't be Gibsons biggest fan myself as he tends to drift off far too much in games . But hopefully getting regular first team action might help his concentration levels!!

At West Brom Brunt was a left winger at the start of last season left although recently he's converted to a more central attacking midfield role as part of a 3 man midfield. Where does he play for NI?

I quite like Brunt as a player but on the old BBC 606 boards he was regularly criticised by NI fans for not replicating his club form at international level.

From an Irish perspective this is great news, a player leaving United where he’s learnt his trade with world class players to move for regular first team football at another Premier League club in a season when we’re trying to qualify for the Euros can only be a benefit to the National side.

What makes me laugh is when NIreland player (and one for the future!!!) Corry Evans was offloaded to Hull City down in the Championship it was celebrated on the NIreland BBC 606 site as a positive move by NIreland fans.

Yet when Gibson goes to a Premiership side (and one that will more than likely not be relegated this season) it is seen as a reason to gloat!!!

Hull City or Sunderland? I know which club i would prefer Gibson to go to. People forget as well that he is still 23. He has about another 4 or 5 years before he peaks.
