We've heard for so long at this stage that both of these want to leave if we don't get Champions League football. And we know that if Chelsea beat Bayern, that just won't happen.
My question is, in that scenario, do we think Modric and Bale will acknowledge that we've finished fourth, and that only extenuating circumstances have prevented us from playing in the CL - and therefore opt to stay?
Or will they view the whole situation (reasonably) as the team's own fault that they couldn't take third spot to ensure a place in Europe?
I really, really hope it's the former, or that Levy tries his best in terms of wages to keep him, but I'm fearing the worst.
Oh well, COY GERMANS
Bale and Modric

I personally think we'll need 2 new strikers and 2 CB's, given our injury record at the back and the fact King, Gallas and Nelson are nearing the end. I suppose Caulker is a choice. We certainly could do with getting more up n coming players. Then yeah another goalkeeper will be on the agenda sooner than later. All that without thinking about replacements for Mod and Bale should they go.
I'll find it hard to believe if we get Hazard with City and others showing an interest, and if they have CL over us. Odds surely stacked against us.

Sounds good to me Don
If Ledley's operation works out he'd be great to have around the place, otherwise it could be curtains for him too

Cheer up spurtle, we had a great run last time round
Even if we don't get it we've had a good season - who would've predicted Chelsea would finish sixth and be in the final??
I wouldn't be worried in the slightest if we started next season with Caulker alongside Kaboul, in fact i'd be delighted. But yes, we obviously need at least one signing there.

spurtle, if bayern win i will be dancing with joy and over the moon, I don't care about the qualifying stages mate. We will be the strongest team in that qualifying stage and we won't have a problem getting through it mate, especially if we sign some players quickly rather than waiting until the last minute like usual. I think Levy is waiting patiently on the bayern outcome, hopefully once bayern win then we can start planning our transfers. If we make CL i think it's going to be an exciting summer, levy knows we have to go for it.

Bale's sorry I can't help but reflect on what could have been. It's a good season I guess.
Shearer and Hansen were discussing our season on MOTD with differing opinions on how well we did. I side more with Hansen in that we should have done better.
My mood will change of course if Chelsea lose :D
Don I wish I had your confidence on the whole CL qualifying thing, but I will nevertheless be excited about it, and if Bayern win I will meet you on the other side of the moon.
