Gerrard - Can someone explain why

To be honest I think Cole is the least of our worries

It's a shame that Wilshere is injured. As it stands the best performing English CM's recently have been Scholes and Carrick. Also their ability to play together would be a good thing for England as it's about producing as much as a cohesive unit in a short space of time as possible.
There's nothing worse at international level than seeing a great team sheet but one that constantly can't play properly together. Therefore Gerrard & Lampard combo

I think that Gerrard will get picked for the simple fact that there are no decent alternatives.

For a supposedly world class player I´ve never seen Gerrard do anything of note in an England shirt and I don´t expect that to change anytime soon.

Yes Gerard will get picked and yes he will be in the starting 11 and yes England will fail to do anything at the the Euros.

Pretty much all of Gerrard´s goals at international level were scored against weaker opposition.

Apart from that 5-1 thrashing of Germany back in 2001 I can´t remember Gerrard scoring an important goal for England.

Gerrard is a has been hasn't done anything in a while but him and Rooney are Englands golden boys

Also going to be difficult leaving Lamps out too...but plenty will say he shouldn't be there either no doubt...

But never done anything for his country despite been played in all positions to accommodate inferior players instead of having the team built around him

Apparently Woy heard him saying Konchesky would be England's LB for years to come and Poulsen was a long term ideal replacement for Gerrard!
