You're now manager of spurs. top 4 targets?

This article idea completely stolen from another spurs only forum... but ...

if you were the spurs management... which 4 players would you target this summer. obviously this is dependent on CL. so make 4 for cl and 4 for if we get europa.. which will result in a poorer standard of player.

keep it realistic please, so no falcaos or cavanis popping up.

my 4 in no order

if cl i would try to go all out to sign...

llorente
lloris
damiao
hummels/subotic (highly highly ambitious)!!

if no cl i would go all out to sign

dembele/hoilett
Vorm
soldado
a centre back !

so much hype about vertonghen

-------------------

Because he's quality chronic!

--------

untested at the top level.

does he even displace vermaelen in the belgium team? and vermaelen really isnt great !

Chronic he is younger and has more caps

He has recently switched to dm for Belgium after starting for them mostly at cb

---------

ok so he is versatile thats one plus for him. so are we buying him as a dm? because it appears hes not a better cb than vermaelen? also he is 25.. not that young really.

ok finally someone has given me a creditable reason as to why we should go for him.. he can cover lots of different positions to a reasonably high level.

nice.

considering i have not seen more than 90 mins of him, nor have many others... then i was amazed at the hype surrounding the guy... who to me appears completely unproven at any kind of meaningful level...

i remain to be convinced that winning dutch player of the year means you will come and boss the prem, but i hope he does well if he comes.

The team does not need that much tinkering, just a modicum of luck like all the other teams get would not go amiss.

I still think Spurs have played some of the best football in the prem this season.

Even Man City looked distinctly average yesterday against 10 men, and were reduced to just pumping hopeful balls into the box. Spurs very rarely do that, they still try to play football.

"The team does not need that much tinkering"

We do need 2 players fighting hard for each position in the starting 11. In terms of quality AND manager nous (rotation etc) .

No room for shoe ins, "favourites" etc anymore.

are you saying that in the whole of the world there is only one quality centre back that we can sign?

if so then i hope we get him !

i would personally go for coloccini... proved to be a very very very good cb in the prem!

No but he's there and wants to come to us!!

Coloccini is good but doubt Newcastle would sell for less than £10million!

Also he is provern at top international level!
