It seems we are already in for Vertonghen & Remy, so those two plus Messi & David Villa!

We can all dream!

Verthongen seems a done deal. Serious noises about Remy too. Assuming these two are done, my two preferences would be:
Leandro,
Lloris.

If Chelsea squeeze a win, there will probably be a Luka-shaped hole in the centre of midfield that needs filling, too.

Stone Henge -

Johnson is a great shout, by the way.

Foster
vertonghen
Adam Johnson (as he can play either wing)

He's a quality player! Can play both wings and has a wicked shot on him!

I think the difference with Johnson is that he's had to try to show his quality to get into a crowded City side, thus being selfish when he gets a chance. He'd provide genuine competition, on the flanks - as well as the GENUINE ability to cut inside - rather than just back-up.

Damiao. Still the only one for me.

Krul or Vorm.
Hoilett.

I think Ben Miles is a great prospect ( looklike ) .

But until then, we need a mid-late 20s GK to claim the spot for a few yrs.

Chronic he is younger and has more caps

He has recently switched to dm for Belgium after starting for them mostly at cb

---------

ok so he is versatile thats one plus for him. so are we buying him as a dm? because it appears hes not a better cb than vermaelen? also he is 25.. not that young really.

ok finally someone has given me a creditable reason as to why we should go for him.. he can cover lots of different positions to a reasonably high level.

nice.

considering i have not seen more than 90 mins of him, nor have many others... then i was amazed at the hype surrounding the guy... who to me appears completely unproven at any kind of meaningful level...

i remain to be convinced that winning dutch player of the year means you will come and boss the prem, but i hope he does well if he comes.

The team does not need that much tinkering, just a modicum of luck like all the other teams get would not go amiss.

I still think Spurs have played some of the best football in the prem this season.

Even Man City looked distinctly average yesterday against 10 men, and were reduced to just pumping hopeful balls into the box. Spurs very rarely do that, they still try to play football.

"The team does not need that much tinkering"

We do need 2 players fighting hard for each position in the starting 11. In terms of quality AND manager nous (rotation etc) .

No room for shoe ins, "favourites" etc anymore.
