Firstly, i love the IPL & i think it's fantastic for the game but there is no place for illegal spot fixing in the game that we love!!
"BCCI to investigate charges raised by sting operation"
The BCCI has said it will investigate allegations of corrupt practices, aired on an Indian TV channel, against some uncapped Indian players currently participating in the IPL. The allegations, which mainly allude to spot-fixing, are based on a sting operation carried out by the channel, India TV.

I hope that this is not true but let's be honest with ourselves, cricket in the sub-continent is rife with illegal gambling & it's probably going on all of the time during competitions such as the IPL.
Let's hope that players such as Mohammad Amir are a deterrent to the young players of India as we all know what a talented player he was.

In response to your post- I quote Imran Khan who said that non-international players have earned more from playing in IPL then he earned from his matches in his entire lifetime. If this exists, then vigilance is certainly a problem as was the case with Pakistani players.
