First off, I did enjoy the spanish grand prix - plenty of unpredictability and another different winner. My thoughts however relate to the decisions made by the stewards.
Now i understand that "rules is rules" but I thought that disqualifying Lewis from qualifying was a joke. Q1 had taken place and he made it legitimately through to Q2 and then he made it legitimately through to the top 10 shoot out. His fuel-filler guy then didn't fuel him up enough and we all know the outcome of this. Thing is though, why did he not just get put back to tenth on the Grid? The first 2 Q sessions had been completed and the infringement took place in Q3 so should he not have just been DQ'd from Q3 only? Surely samples of the fuel must be taken after each Q session otherwise for Q1 and Q2 you could fill the car up with any sort of jungle juice and then put the 'proper' fuel in the car for just Q3(?) Lewis was hugely faster than everyone else which wouldn't have been down to under-fuelling the car, he didn't wreck anyone else's Q runs but he ends up in 24th place on the grid.
Then you have Schumacher who ploughs straight into the back of Senna, causes an accident and puts himself and Senna out of the race. This, it seems, is not as bad as under-fuelling a car because Schumacher receives just a 5 place grid penalty at the next race.
Now back to this fuelling / under-fuelling issue, I'm pretty damn sure that Jenson recently completed a race, crossed the line and then parked his car because he didn't have enough fuel to get back to the pits as well as give the FIA a sample. If this incident didn't happen, please let me know but I'd damn sure it did and at the time, I took no notice of it. Assuming that it did occur, I know that Jenson has received no penalties from the FIA recently so where the hell is the consistancy?! You can drive a whole race then park the car after the finish line because you're low on fuel and this is fine - do this in qualifying though and the stewards disqualify you.
You've gotta love the consistency...

Not to descend into conspiracy theories but it just seems mad that the team can design and build a car which should have (and would have) been challenging for the race win in each of the races so far can also have such a bunch of comedy mechanics when it comes to pit lane action.

I don't believe all the conspiracy theory's but that penalty was bull s@&@! I don't think Hamilton has helped himself in his F1 career, he has definitely done and said things in his short career he shouldn't have. However he is clearly one of the best drivers around at the moment (if not the best). But this year he has knuckled down and got on with it. Even after that stupid punishment he didn't winge he just got on and did a great job. I've always loved his driving but not his personality, now he's proving me wrong. Well done Lewis!
Wish Jenson carried on as he started the season (always been a Button fan after the legend that is Mr Herbert retired). But at least the other English driver (who I admit is better than him) is becoming likeable now. Sort the mistakes out Mclaren and the stewards/FIA and let's hope one of our boys do it. (see it is possible to support both!)

You pompous fool.
You are just like a number of other people that judge Lewis Hamilton according to some arbitrary standards that you have dreamt up overnight. Lewis does not exist purely to please people like you and somehow achieve the status of being “acceptable as one of Mikey C's best mates”. Although he is obviously deeply upset that over his short 6 year career he has apparently failed you to a significant extent.
Maybe you would be happier if he broke the FIA rule regarding media access and refused to give any interviews. Maybe he should “know his place”.
Button fans – what a joke you are. He never had any fans before Lewis Hamilton came along.
Fernando Alonso became popular because he beat Schumacher. Button was a non entity, a useless playboy. A highly paid useless playboy.
Lets lay the cards on the table. Lewis will never ever get a fair shake from people like you. Always looking for something critical. Always judging him alone by some standards that you refuse to apply to others. But he has had to put up with that sort of nonsense since he was 8 years old so I doubt if it worries him.

@ MikeyC
I am a Lewis fan, I like his agressive driving style and the fact he has ruffled a few feathers in the paddock. I will admit that I've probably overlooked a few occasions where he was probably in the wrong but on the whole, I just think his biggest crime is want to race agressively.
Last season you could sense his frustration with the car and he was doing a good job making it perform better than expected. As we know he had many a visit to the stewards but that's history. This season he genuinely seems happier even while things haven't gone his way which is a good attitude to have. It was quite refreshing though last season when he said one or two things he shouldn't as it showed he was indeed a normal person and not just a manufactured robot who must only say what his PR man tells him.
Anyway, the punishment he received seemed incredibly harsh for the crime - would another driver who'd done the same been punished equally? We'll never know but my gut feeling tells me that they wouldn't but that's another story and I'm not going to discuss conspiracy on here.

Your right, that came out completely wrong. Sorry, it was my birthday and I'd had a few. I'm sorry but I'm a people person and love an underdog, hence since I first got into F1 I always supported Jonny Herbert. He was never a great driver but had the worst luck I've ever seen yet always found the best in every situation and got on with it.
Hamilton is definetly the better driver and I'm sure he doesn't care what anyone thinks of him and rightly so. However just cos he is one of the two best drivers At the mo (in my opinion, Alonso is the other) I will always root for Button ahead of him.
Sorry, if that makes me a pompous fool, and I admit my last post sounded that way, then so be it. Either way! I hope one of the Brits win the drivers title.

Thanks MikeC for that.
I also apologise to you for my angry response which was also influenced by a few drinks.
Cheers.

So we can conclude, alcohol-induced 606'ing is always an angry affair. Don't drink and 606 - it just ends in tears!
I'm glad we all came to a pleasant and civil conclusion in time for the weekend. Nice to see everyone is happy on a Friday
And to continue with this trend, @ MikeyC, happy-belated birthday.

All's well that ends well! And here's to not drinking and 606ing!

im surprised schumacer was blamed for that incident. i thought senna left him with nowhere to go - he basically changed his line to block senna and then braked early for the corner.
