Personally, I would have dropped Terry and Ferdinand after the last world cup. Capello wasn't brave enough to do it. If Hodgson does drop one, for whatever reason, it is a brave decision.

We have plenty of CBs who can replace either.

There are always rifts in the squad,the manager has to be strong enough to deal with it, just as they have to at club level...........this is nothing new

The point is just as valid if he decides not to pick Rio for the same reason.

If both players are available then the decision should be made on merit and nothing else......

If Rio says he won't play with JT and Hodgson intended to select JT then Rio withdraws from the squad..........Hodgson does not need to make the decision...............if he does, it proves he is an FA TOAD

While we're leaving people behind can we please pass on Rooney. He will likely only play one or two matches with little effect and will surely do something out of petulance and stupidity that will be "the reason" we didn't lift the trophy or whatever it is.

It is ok if Rio stood down or is unfit, but it is not so good if Hodgson dropped him puely to avoid confrontation
