England

I accept the squad hasn't been selected yet but its pretty obvious what's coming. A dull uninspiring squad full of the same usual suspects.

Yes i have a united bias and i really wanted to see a squad built round Rio carrick scholes barry lescou richards young wayne and wellbeck but its not just club loyalty its based on the two best performing teams right now and players in form. Roy should have used this logic instead of the flawed and lazy one of standing by players who got England here.

This is his team not fabios and by picking the names above he could have stamped his own theme on the team with players who are bang in form and play together. Instead he has bottled it and gone for the tried and failed formula of over hyped media darlings.

To be honest i find it really depressing. After the world cup i never thought we would have to endure them all again.

So unless it's full of utd players your not interested?

I will hate to see Terry, Gerrard, Lampard etc play, but unfortunately the alternatives are injured, off form or hardly played this season. We have to set up defensively and hope to snatch a goal IMO - our squad is in tatters.

Moron, who has said it should be full of United players?

Please learn how to read before gobbing off.

There isn't a whole lot of creativity in United's midfield but we still score goals. Chances will come from Walcott and Young. Lampard has creativity (did you see that pass for Ramires against Barcelona?)

We will probably draw our first 2 games and need to beat Ukraine to qualify (once Rooney is back) and the team I stated is more than good enough to do that.

Out of interest Vidicschin, what would your ideal team be?

Its not the lack of united players. Its the depressing line up of old failures. What's exciting about that. They Brent suddenly going to start playing well together in their early thirties.

Hard to be interested if we just take the same midfielders who were carp at the last WC

Nothing to do with United players

I know we have very little in the way of alternatives, but Walcott is only really effective against a high line of defence, running in behind them from the wing. He's not a conventional winger in that his style of play isn't to take on his man. Young struggles to beat his man at times, too.

All the opposition will have to do is set up deep and pressure our wingers and slow Lampard and all of a sudden our best player has no supply. Rooney is only good up top on his own with decent service, and he just won't get that playing for England. He needs to play deeper to affect our general play.

Wow, he made one pass.

Tell me, have you ever watched England?

Lampard is a goalscoring midfielder, who has had his best days. he is nothing more than that. He is not creative, he can not keep possession, and he does not set the tempo of games.

But Vidicschin, who else do we have? Wilshere is one possibility but he's injured. Cleverley is another but he's not quite at the level required. Maybe Brazil will be his opportunity. And as for Lampard, Bastian Sweinsteiger himself today said that Lampard was to England what Xabi Alonso is to Spain. I'm not so blinkered to my my love of United that I can't see how good a player he is.

As for his age, who's to say he's past his best? He is super fit and these days players like him can be brilliant until their late 30's. Have faith because football is a funny old game.

Then might I suggest that he is taking the pee. Either that or you are.

In fact I find that one of the most laughable comments I have ever heard.

Lampard has been good for Chelsea, not the last two seasons by the way, but never has he been good for England.
