Woy's Liverpool connections seem to be a running theme with this squad as well. Downing and Johnson? They've been average players in an average team who've had an average season.

I was pretty behind him till that squad announcement.

I'm still behind him, but the three i'm surprised about are Richards, Carrick and Sturridge, I thought all of those would be in.
I'll reserve judgment until I see what his preferred lineup is going to be. He has done very well out of seemingly poor squads in the past, so I won't say anything until after the Norway game.

No need to disadvantage himself from the off though melton!
If he goes for the old Terry, Lampard routine I'll be annoyed.

Tim Howard has more goals and assists than Downing, shame he's American.

More baffling than Richards for me is Carrick
He's had an exceptional season and is one of the main reasons why utd finished level on points at the top.How lampard gets the nod in front of him is frankly ridiculous. Picking Downing defies all logic and doesn't warrant discussion

Lampard has composure and can keep the ball on the deck. It's Gerrard who's the problem; the guy plays like he has extreme long-sightedness and is unable to see anyone within 10 yards of him.
