Arsenal get the tape out

It appears Arsenal have put a media ban on van persie and the Netherlands, as to make sure those pesky reporters do not get anything out of our captain.

Not that i want to be a doom merchant ... but thats surely not a great sign, if he was signing then they would say he is signing. If they don't want him to speak then either they are planning to surprise us or negotiations are not going to plan?

everyone knows that especially at this time of year tabloids only exist for comedy value. So why do so many people get their damn knickers in a twist over everything that gets said?

---------------

The media in this country are a joke, especially when it comes to sports journalism. The amount of non-stories they just conjure out of bullsh|t is embarrassing.

Come on Melo, Van Persie has had at least a year to make a decision on his future.

I very much doubt he is dithering at this stage.

He knows Wenger's plans ambitions and the strength of the team more than any of us.

Strikes me as a man that know's what he wants and he hasn't signed a new contract

The only thing that remains to be seen is who comes in for him and will Wenger let him go or hold him to his final year.

My guess is Wenger will have said to RVP you can go to a club outside England otherwise we are holding you until your contract expires.

Another thinkable szenario could be that van Persie said to Arsenal: Show your ambitions and sign players. To mask Arsenal intention and give the public no hint whom we try to sign they keep quiet. Then they will meet once again and van Persie decide again.

But he always said he'd wait until the summer to begin negotiations.

Please don't think I'm being naive (it's more blissful ignorance) but I really do believe that there is nothing to this story. A club and their player couldn't agree a contract in a short period of time and other clubs are hovering. To me, it's just that straight-forward.

uunfortunately, to some it'll be more likely that martians have come and tapped up van persie, so desperate are they to see a conspiracy and pessimism in everything.

I blame TBOK. Clearly his stench is driving RVP from the Emirates.

DAMN YOU, TBOK!

It's straight-forward for me also.

Contract not signed - player will leave if they right offer comes in or will be asked to see out his contract.

The whole 'waiting for the summer' and now the media gag on Van Persie is out of respect for Wenger and the club. Keep as much negativity as possible away from the club and manager until absolutely necessary.

Imagine the negativity and effect it would have on the team if Van Persie announced in January or when ever that he did not wish to renew his contract.

The flip side would have been to do the opposite, which obviously didn't happen.

I'm sure Van Persie knows what he wants and expects to get it so no need to upset the apple cart at any point during the season and now during transfer busines
