If you thought that the Chelsea - Barca game in the Nou Camp or the Final against Bayern were boring then you are in a very small minority.

In fact they were two of the most dramatic games I can remember watching.

Also you must have missed our 3-0 win over Valencia, our 4-1 demolition of Napoli and our 5-1 thrashing of Spurs in the FA Cup semifinal if you think that we only play negative football.

Right, lets start from the begining,
1) chelseas tactics were very negative and boring, you sat back and defended for the better part of 90 minutes, however i never said the game was boring, beacuse of the fact you sat back it made for an attacking game from Bayern, and you defended well.

2) At what point did i say chelsea only play negative football?? I was talking about the one game, and not the whole season.

I won't bother to counter the negative comments on because if you can't see the adversity Chelsea have had to overcome to win this, you know very little of our club!

they were exciting games to watch, but that was partly down to chelsea and their negative tactics.

Even the most ardent of chelsea fanscant deny the tactics at the Nou camp and in the final were not negative, but as i said before, they were the right tactics to have against teams like that.

The fact you sat back meant that it wasnt scrappy in midfield and there were plenty of golamouth action.

This thread is about Roman. I am sure you all had a tear in your eye when he lifted that trophy. He deserves his moment fully. The contrast between him and other owners is marked.

I am sure he would have loved you to win 4-0, playing amazing pass and move football. But other qualities shone through and are equally as important.

It was fantastic to see the emotion in him and his family - just goes to show that he is not only the owner but a fan and a passioate one at that!

Mind you - he hasn't had to wait 48 years to see that like me!

Chelsea is not a one stly team, we are not an Arsenal every game, we can play like that and have played like that but we have the ability to adapt, that is a strength.

Playing pretty footballis all well and good but if you can't get the ball in the net, a waste of time. Being able to adapt our style to counter the opposition is what got us as far as we did this year and indeed in previous years.
