Reading the Sport breaking news Pep seems to be opening the door to offers.
Would it make sense for the owners to at the very least sound him out, I dont know if their 'project' is enough to attract him but its worth a chat surely?
I understand we are close with martinez but I would hope the owners give it a go with Pep, I have quotes from him saying positive things about our youth set up etc so there could be a small chance he would be interested in the job??
Thoughts?

Chelsea have won the CL under Matteo. Surely he isn't expecting him to be sacked.

you think Roman wouldn't get rid of a caretaker manager for the most successful manager in the world over the last 4 years?
think there are a few other managers on the list who would be fearing if pep said he would want to manage next season - Redknapp going into the last year on his contract being one.

I think Pep's rebuilding work needs to be acknowledged when we talk about his time with Barca.
He inherited a talented team but one that was aging and full of egos, he showed the likes of Ronaldinho, Etoo, Deco, Zambrotta and Thuram the door and replaced them with the likes of Alves, Pique and academy players like Pedro & Busquets.
He created a team environment at Barca and had players totally brought into his footballing philosophy. I’m genuinely surprised people are saying that with this team anybody could win titles – he created the team!

Would be a travesty if De Matteo wasn't given the job and I was only speaking from Pep's thoughts in that he can't be expecting a club to get rid of a manager that has just won the greatest club trophy of them all for the first time in their history.
No one really knows how good Pep is yet. I was chatting with a Liverpool fan in my local shop earlier and he was saying the same thing too. Getting Liverpool back at the top of the PL and winning it again would be a greater achivement than winning trophies with that Barca side.

But does he want the challenge? If he fails what then? People think of him as a manager who simply had a great team at Barcelona but when challenged with a weaker team, couldn't get anywhere?
Then where does his next job come from?

Fully understand TOOR but like I said, we are talking about Liverpool, not Stoke
It's the Liverpool bit that should be enticing.

I understand it's enticing but is he going to risk it? I doubt he will, especially after saying he wants to take "months" out to get away from the pressures.

Lets be honest, guardiola i think will be another mourinho and will be going to a team with massive expenditure to help him get the best players,so chelsea is a shoe in for him.
I cant see him ever trying to put a team together from scratch.

i agree it would be if Di matteo didnt get the job it would be a travesty. But Roman has done much worse.
I agree with Pep aswell - he has spent the vast majority of his footballing life at Barca so is largely unproven outside of it.

TOOR
I do not know. I'm just putting it out there that the Liverpool job is one of the greatest footballing challenges currently available to a manager
I saw the laughing going on when managers were taking themselves out of the running for the opportunity but for me, they are missing what could be something major. Making England's most successful club a driving force again.
Getting a club back into the champions league is probably better than takiing part in it (unless you have a chance of winning it of course). For me, it's an absolute bore fest until the quarters
