Just watching Derry v Sham Rvrs on RTE 2. The Brandywell looks like a nice stadium.
Has the Brandywell been earmarked for some of the grants that are being given to some stadiums in the North (Windsor Park and Casement Park for example).
If so, this stadium could probably be used for ROI U21 matches or even some ROI friendlies.
If would be a nice gesture by the FAI to the people of Derry to stage an International there. A thank you to all the supporters who travel down from the North to watch the ROI in action in Dublin.
Peoples thoughts.
Brandywell for ROI U21 matches?

Wasn't the Short Strand riots was a build up of tension for months between the 2 communities of the Short Strand and the Newtownards Road , which came about after t!t-for-tat attacks on both sides home , which were ignored by the police. Correct me if i am wrong? BOTH sides of the community were to blame for that , were they not??
And yes , i have been to the Falls & Ardoyne and there are flags , as well as PIRA signs on lamp-posts , as well as murals. Dont tell there is not when i have BEEN there recently ffs.
Where do you think the tourists take their open-top bus "tour of troubled Belfast hotspots" to?? The Shankill , Newtownards Road , Village to see the Loyalists murals and then over to the Falls and Ardoyne to "Gerry's Tea Shop" for a cup of Rosie Lee and a few scones. FFS sober Mango , they have their paramilitary flags/murals everywhere on both sides. It is around me EVERY day. Go to South Armagh , Green , White And Gold curbs , walls , republican propaganda and even "Sniper AT Work" signs on the lamp-posts.
So dont come off saying it is 1 side , it IS BOTH SIDES. Shall i repeat this slowly for you , B-O-T-H S-I-D-E-S ,ok now, got it?
Anyway back to footie.........

No get the facts right, loyalis mobs attacked the Strand, the strand residents where defending there home. Are you suggesting they just let the manky mob wreck there homes? Aye right. Loyalists tried to attack and where showed that they cant just destroy a community whenever they feel like it. They failed 40 years ago and they will continually fail.
Secondly, im not denying that republicans dont have murals and flags ffs, what im saying is they dont have there towns plastered in them so when people from other communities pass by, they feel intimitaded and not welcome. Thats exactly what these flags do. How can you destroy a town with flags, bunting and painting kerbs then say its 'culture'? when PSNI try to remove flags our residents dont want there march near them its suddenly attacking htere culture? get a grip. Sad pathetic men. How many times has winkie Irvine been on the news recently accusing Nationalists of attacking protestant culture for not letting them pass the Ardoyne shops in peace? He is a sad wee nobody bigot of a man.
Sure, bothsides play there part, but all this rioting would never happen if loyalists would stop throwing there toys out of the pram everytime someone takes down a flag. Its not going to make them any less british. Talk about being offended. So glad im not a wannabe English loyalist.

^^^^^^^dude your arguments are so one sided and ineffective............................
You basically say both sides are at fault BUT its still the loyalists fault!!!
Thats the problem with N.I people refuse to take responsibility........................
So say you don't want to be an "english" wannabe, I take it you really mean British!!!!
Well you pretent to be something your not, you live in part of the U.K and yet are in self-denial at its existance.............................

Your argument is rendered void by your little snipe at the end.
But you were doing well until then. Keep trying, and soon you wil be able to hold a conversation!

Dublondain - ALL of that particular gentlemans "arguments" are always rendered void
Why a man who isn't really a Football supporter spends his valuable time on a Football board is beyond me.
If as i suspect he's only interested in sparking up Loyalist v Nationalist arguments surely he would be better off posting on the GAA boards !!

Its obvious that your on the windup Mango. Both sides houses WERE attacked, it has been stated by BOTH sides. Are you really that thick?? Seriously??
This is the icing on the cake and i quote Mango "Secondly, im not denying that republicans dont have murals and flags ffs, what im saying is they dont have there towns plastered in them so when people from other communities pass by, they feel intimidated and not welcome. That is exactly what these flags do. How can you destroy a town with flags, bunting and painting kerbs then say its 'culture'?"
Right , its quite obvious you haven't been driving through Crossmaglen , Toome , Ballyronan and Rathenraw. They have tricolours , PIRA/CIRA/RIRA murals and posters etc etc!! Unless my eyes are deceiving me .
Now , im not saying Loyalist areas dont have this stuff because they do. I cant deny that and in fact ive no interest in denying that at all.
My response is because Mango there is denying that Nationalist towns and areas don't have these kinds of things. Its plainly obvious this clown doesn't leave the house and believes everything he reads , instead of going out into the big wide world and having a wee look for himself.
This is the last im going to say anything on something like this. Obviously its going nowhere fs

Listen to mr 'I love to give my hard earned money to an English women who doesnt care about me and my family instead of spending it on my wife and kids' Donaldson...............lol
Dude I said it was both sets of communities faults for rioting and hijacking cars etc but I want to state that Loyalists started the whole fiasco. That you cant deny dude. That you can not.
Im not in self denial of the UK. I dont support the union and I dont consider myself british and there isnt anything wrong with that. Having a chinese driving license wouldnt make me Chinese lol.
AlexTia
I have been to many nationalists places all over the north and I dont deny that there are tri colours flying in some of them, but my point is that its nowhere near the state of loyalist places. Is that hard to understand?. I live in a nationalist town and I could count on two hands the amount of tri colours flying in it to my knowledge. Sinn Fein dont even have a tri colour flying outside there office ffs. I mean just look at the state East Belfast is in at the minute. Its a worldwide embarressment. My English and Scottish work mates cringe everytime we drive through a loyalist village or see loyalist places on the news. Such a sad state of affairs.

Hopefully when the international friendlies start again in mid August people might start talking about football on this forum. Almost every article turns into a Republican V Loyalist debate. It's gone beyind a joke at this stage.
