Lee News

Just yesterday I was really worried about the future of one of our best players a certain south Korean. This was founded on the fact that he only had 12 months left on his deal so I thought, here we go another Gary Cahill. Anyway it turns out in the Bolton news (app) today that he actually signed a new deal last August just before he got the injury, which runs out in 2015. Got to say well done by the club because I was ranting to my mate about not letting our best players' contracts get below 2 years. But of course we could still just sell him....

Good Petrov we're getting back on topic. Although no I haven't heard a peep, ever, I don't know a thing about him. All I do know is that lee himself has said he doesn't know about his future and isn't really thinking about it till after his hols, which is as vague as you can get. As for the off topic, topic the debate about it has been gone over again and again, why not just ignore the posts you don't like (this goes for both sides) so that the threads don't get bogged down in the same old debate?

Bricks, are those the stats just for automatic promotion or do they include play-off winners too? Obviously 11-12 does, but I mean all the other years too.

Lee being under contract when we all thought he had one year left is great news, and a positive whatever happens to him next. Proper fee or a very decent player, win-win.

From the comments of others, looks like I am missing some pointless and repetitive whining as a result of the filter function, hurray

Play-offs as well.

Didn't go all the way back because funny stuff going on with reducing the Prem from 42 teams to 38.

Cheers for looking into that. A question - are you not encouraged by that info in any way? If you look at the stats for the last 5-6 years, it would suggested the increased parachute money is giving the relegated clubs something of an edge, would it not/

I wish people would use the filter process properly

Of course it's better to have Lee on 4 instead of a one year tie up so we get more if he wants to leave.

The stats for the last 5 years are a lttie misleading as in 09/10, Brum were allowed by Carson Yeung to run at a 25mil loss to retain the players and pay Prem wages. Same with Mike Ashley Toon in 10/11, losing 18mil over that season. Don't know if WHU had a similar policy yet.

I really doubt our wherewithall to risk losses next season.

Its very difficult to create an article whereby comment will only be in relation to the op. Truth is that any issue in any football club has many different factors and each topic can always be related to the general running of the club or the manager.

Bricks argument about Yeung and Ashley allowing prem wages is a pretty reasonable one with a lot of credibility. I would suggest, however, that Bolton have managed to cut the wage bill and got rid of the 'deadwood', thus meaning that our current wage budget (after the cuts) is manageable and affordable at the moment.

Looking at the squad, I think it's strong. Very strong. We need 1 or 2 more players. A sub keeper and a centre half for sure, and then we have a full squad capable of beating lots of teams in this league.

Remember, with Lee, Holden and Wylde, we essentially have 3 new signins compared to last year.

As for Lee, well the news that he is contracted until 2015 can only be good news for us. We either get a decent wage on transfer money and stick Eagles on right wing, or we get to keep a fantastic player and stab a better chance of promotion.

If he decides he doesn't want to play for us, well tough ****. He has said he will play until 2015 and thus the club holds all the playing cards.

TRR in 2012 players hold the cards unless your city.

What cards does Lee hold, Petrov?

Whatever his decision is, the club will benefit from it.

Transfer fee wise yes but they can't stop him going
