Apparently the club forgot to tell the communications department about it due to his injury taking the news priority.

If only some clubs and players conducted their transfer activity like that.

i bet arsenal did too.bet they wish they forgot they gave rvp a 3 year extension last summer too!

It still doesn't alter the fact that the relegation wages clause will kick in.

Let's see if he's loyal to the Bolton cause or his wallet.

Well it surely puts more cards into our hands, it now means if he wants to leave, then we can get more for him.

Unless he does a Tevez and we sell him for half a million and a bag of Revels.

The way I see it is that he will either: stay because he's happy, stay because he feels he owes us a year, stay because he has no choice or leave for his career. I just don't think he'll leave because of the money, he seems like a quiet guy who just wants to focus on the football, kind of the opposite of balotelli who wants all the attention and money and fast cars ect.

He has a bit of a cult following in S.Korea and he may go to the Prem so that all his followerers can idolise him on telly that Murdoch sells them.

Bricks, Lee is 23, he has plenty of years ahead of him in the game, one season with us in a lower league isn't going to affect his following that much ......

posted on 29/5/12

T Championship is the 5th biggest league in TE world, his following in S.Korea will be able to watch him next season, and will have an extra 8 games to catch him in action.

Brick's why don't you try to be positive for once.

You know it's good news, so smile.

posted on 29/5/12

What an odd comment swie. Why should bricks be positive? He blames Owen coyle for boltons demise and the guy is still in a job. Or is this a case of we don't agree with your opinion so change it.
I completely disagree with his use of naz is or his personal comments but those complaining need to check their own comments and lay off with the 'boring' or 'pathetic' comments thrown at him before crying

Bricks is a positive guy by nature, he used to make a big deal of it....................under our previous manager.

Petrov, this thread has NOTHING to do with Coyle, it is to do with a great player, who we were worried we might lose signing a new contract strengthening our ability to keep him, even if you do not support our manager this is good news.

Every single thread these days gets turned into a Coyle in/ out thread, even if it has nothing to do with him ......

Let's just hope Lee can make it back to the sort of form he was in before the injury. He sure as hell wasn't ready to come back when he did, in the last campaign!

posted on 29/5/12

Excellent news, obviously. As long as we can afford his wages. Which should be fairly low, considering his age and his unproven ability when he joined us.

Got to say Bricks now you just seem like a kid who's sandcastle got destroyed by the sea, and starts taking it out on the other kids' sandcastles by smashing them down to dust, just to let them feel like he does.

We get it. The club is badly run and can't do anything right. But please stop trying to put a negative twist on everything.

Getting relegated from the Premiership has proven, historically, to be a very negative thing indeed for all relegated clubs.

They tend to lose their best players and tend to struggle financially to cope for many years so I really don't know what is going to be that different for us.

Historically, 1 in 5 clubs get promoted at the first attempt, so don't get too giddy about that one either or you'll end up very disappointed.

Relegation is truly very negative despite what Phil & Coyle are trying to tell you.

posted on 29/5/12

Obviously getting relegated was nobodies wish but every time theres something positive you have to switch it to how bad we are.

There is literally no pleasing you. When we don't have players on long enough contracts it's bad management. When we do then we can't afford the wages.

I will refer you back to my metaphor.

Bricks, no one is saying otherwise, even Gartside or Coyle, there are a few positives to relegation (which are outweighed by the negatives) but I cannot see any reason why anyone cannot state these, when people can state the negative.

However, this is not the topic of the article, its the great news that we are more likely to keep hold of a brilliant player, or get more money for him if he does want to leave. However, you have decided to come and decided to spout a load of negative rubbish .....

We've been struggling financially for many years in the league with the highest revenue in the world.

Atleast with lower income, lower expenditure, etc we can try and get our house in order.

If we can do that then atleast that could be a positive effect of being relegated. If we manage it correctly and get promoted again sharpish.

The danger is if you Don't get back up, but then it seems like we won't be selling our best players unless they ask to leave and we get offered serious money.

By all accounts, balancing books etc is fine due to our bank debt being minimal, merely an overdraft. The rest to ED as we know, but the impression you get from Gartside in recent interviews is that there's no issue with the debt, and he wishes that it was referred to its 'proper' name: equity.

So it's negative equity, afterall ED doesn't owe the money to himself. We need to remember that, and e relaxed as Garyside has stressed enough it's not an issue.

Here's the first attempt after relegation facts:

00/99 - None
00/01 - None
01/02 - None
02/03 - ManC
03/04 - LeicesterC
04/05 - WBA
05/06 - None
06/07 - None
07/08 - Sunderland & Birmingham
08/09 - None
09/10 - Birmingham
10/11 - WBA & Newcastle
11/12 - WHU

That's 9 from 42 make it or a 21% chance.

That's not negative, it's fact.

posted on 29/5/12

Bricks, isn't it also a fact that if a team can keep its core team together, it is more likely to come back up?

e.g. Newcastle, WHU, Birmingham
