Fifa

What a truly shocking organisation, how can it be against their laws to obey the laws of a court - this should not be allowed and it is an absolute disgrace.

Let us remember that this is the same organisation who were the centre of a corruption scandal far worse than the scandal we have been involved with. Absolutely shocking, i'm furious right now.

FIFA have no jurisdiction over UK courts and it's bloody ridiculous that they think they can overrule it.

I'm not a Rangers fan, I'm just annoyed about all these European nobodies who think they rule the world.

"Stevie - the SFA already stated that throwing us out the league is "too severe" and "too harsh."....but they felt a strong punishment had to be handed down so they gave us the transfer embargo....they thought they could do this as they left the remit for punishments open ended.

The SFA cant do that now apparently, so they can only hand down the punishments they specifically mentioned.

They will still want to hand down a harsh punishment, a Scottish Cup ban or a wee fine that we likely wont pay is nothing in comparison to the transfer embargo.

Just because they said turfing us out was too severe or too harsh before doesnt mean that now, after being backed into a corner with little options available to them...they wont just go for that this time and to hell with us.

What complaint can we have if they turf us out.....what's our court argument going to be then?? "They said turfing us out was too severe a punishment but now they changed theri minds?".....Pretty sure the courts would laugh this all the way out the front door with a response of "well you challenged the lesser punishment they gave you, and turfing you out was open to them, and you did commit a serious offence close to match fixing in theri eyes so it was within their remit"

This has bad news for the club written all over it lads

Claudio - Sion went to court, they won and got screwed for it. Their trump card was that FIFA is based in Switzerland, it still wasnt enough. Every other club who takes their national association to court has been hammered for it, do you think you're any different? It against SFA & FIFA rules and FIFA are very strict about it.

They now only have a few options to punish you with, if they choose to listen to the courts decision, but you will be hammered even more for taking them to court.

Brooklyn - £650 an hour isnt that expensive for an administrator.

The one positive in that scenario is that is wasn't actually Rangers who took the SFA to courrt - it was Duff and Phelps - the administrators.

Unfortunately its just the start of a protracted court process. The final punishment won't be downsized at all. The SFA will appeal the decision in the 21 day period and depending on how that goes, will look at a stronger punishment.

The Swiss FA were told by FIFA that a heavy punishment was required for Sion - an additional 36 point penalty. You've endangered the entire Scottish game and that might result in some SPL clubs changing their position on newco.

And the people who instigated the court action will walk away with £5.5m. They might not be around to see the effects. Astonishing.

"There are many instances where a failed appeal can mean a harsher sanction, but people/organisations still appeal decisions they feel are incorrect."

We did appeal it through the proper channels...the appeal failed...so we went the next step and took it outwith football and to court.

How far do you take things you dont agree with before it does yourself more harm than good???

If your boss docks you pay for being off sick when you felt you should have received sick pay, do you complain to the high heavens through all avenues until your position at your workplace becomes untenable???

Coz thats basically what we are doing here

Seriously, this looks like a strategic move by the admins because HMRC are dragging it out.

They are looking for an executioner.

You lot are all missing the massive point that due to the SFA allowing the appeal to the normal court and not CAS and saying in public kicking out a club is too severe.

Should they choose to go down the sanction of kicking us out. They will be sued by the Admins, by Green and by any one else who has an interest in the club and getting cash. beyond any measure of compensation.

An amount that will make their £15 million fine and kick out by Fifa seem like a let off.
