outlining Hodgson's Press Conference:
"The contacts with Michael were conducted before I took the job. It was made clear to me he was not a player who wanted to be considered so he wasn't a player I considered. Michael is a player I have always admired and who knows in the future?"
so, Roy didn't even attempt to speak to Carrick - bet he is regretting that now!!

That's not really narrowed it down much - Pretty much every professional footballer had a better season than them.

The best English CM over the course of the season.
And Roy doesn't even think to pick up the phone and see how the land lies? Bizarre.

Please explain what part of what I said isn't true?

A fair take on this shouldn't overlook Carrick's apparent statement to the FA when apportioning blame.
However, it's surprising to say the least that if Hodgson rated him and would have liked him in the squad he didn't even bother clarifying the situation with the player. All it needs is a three-minute conversation.
I kind of wonder whether Hodgson is now covering himself against the backlash. Before he lost two midfielders the line was that he didn't feel Carrick was better than the players he'd selected and therefore there was no point considering him on the back-up list given his stance.
In the current situation there is more heat on him for failing to bring a better midfield to the competition and he is putting more weight on Carrick's stance, and less on his previous evaluation of Carrick as not good enough for the starting XI.

I never said anything you said wasn't true.
It is just that you are pig ignorant to everything else.
Hope this helps in you ongoing education into how to be a better human being.

Vidicschin - Overreact much?
I don't see the ignorance. Hodge said Carrick didn't want to be involved with England from before. If that's true, and there's no reason to suggest it isn't, then he turned his back on his country, to put it one way.

What I got from this is that Roy wasnt planning on taking Carrick anyway, so didnt bother picking up the phone when Lamps and Barry were fit.

Why do you think Carrick was having a problem with beiong selected for England, it has been well documented?

Carrick over Henderson any day of the week

who cares?
Royball only uses two types of players
Those who tackle, defend and hoof. And those who try and attempt to score from hoofs.
Carrick fits neither profile. Neither does Henderson. They both pass 5-10 yards one touch sideways with a 100% competion rate and do little else.
Neither should be going. Neither would be starters anyway.
