Listening to you lot going on about all these rubbish players we have makes me wonder how the hell we managed to accumulate 87 points, go on a 25 match unbeaten run and have the best away record in the entire football league.

We must have a fantastic young manager if he managed to get the above performances out of a team of no-hopers and useless donkeys.

Anyone care to post a report/opinion of the Gateshead match seeing as I couldn't make it?

Just noticed, I want more information! I was in London all weekend and my best mates roommate went to watch Charltons first pre-season friendly while we were supping Kopparberg by the Thames - all he could talk about for the rest of the night was how Danny Green could be the player to spearhead their undoubted promotion push.

For some reason links don't show up in comments, they only work properly in the actual article. It's been mentioned to the mods a few times but as yet they still don't work.

Judging from the article it could be interesting to see how the midfield takes shape because Gobern sounds good, Miller has experience which Clark loves, and a few of the other younger lads sound promising. Arfield and Joey weren't even in the squad so we could have real competition for places in there even though people consider it a weak area.

Town are after 2 wingers for certain...

By the way I went to Gateshead Saturday, i was well impressed with Oscar & Donal. I thought Liam Cooper was impressive too. Tommy Miller looked like superb player too...
Smithies was great too, he pulled a 2 or 3 really good saves..
Rhodes looked a bit slow, but still played well..
And there was some really good performances by quite a few academy lads..
All in all I was impressed by quite a few individuals....

Dont forget TTC that Novak can not win a header that's been humped out of defence too! This just results in the ball coming straight back at us!

If Novak tried to head his pillow when he gets into bed he'd fall out of bed on the other side........... but he does try hard you know!

If Novak can add product to his effort he could be very important for Town.
