Sorry MN, definately gives us some great attacking options and some defensive tracking back doesn't it.
Gotta say though MN, seems as though the Roberts rumours were true UNLESS we use DM in a more striking type style

Ummm not sure about this one, drifted in and out of games too much for my liking. One minute he was good then the next he wasn't.One thing I will say for him is he can deliver a decent cross, which Roberts doesn't always do.

no need to be sorry Jonny, this is the biggest transfer news since McDermott and if it comes true i think its a signing that will really make some people sit up and take notice.

Wards the kind of player that i think we all want at the club, has skill , has a high workrate and isnt afraid to track back and get his hands dirty. he also crosses the ball.

yes please mr hoyle

Agree MN, get him in, get someone to get on the end of the crosses and finally get a absolute quality CM and we should be done or close to it

he's only 19, so another player to 'develop' for the future. He looks a bit wooden to me sometimes, but he's got one hell of a shot on him. Prob a good buy, was only person to have a shot at Old Trafford...Also, having been on loan here and wanting to come back permanently suggests he genuinely wants to be here perhaps ?

If we sign ward that's it for me , it's top 2 finish for me for me , robberts had a muscle strain yesterday so wasn't risked .

Good news.

I wouldn't have Gary Roberts scrubbing my floors. He's a t0$$er

He was last season for some reason but I think he will be better this time

Well this should shut some of the nay-sayers up, eh TTC? DW is quality already and can improve...

and a 6 figure fee only... £300k + addons?

psycho..

the "nay sayers" were not and still are not overly worried about the squad itself, or any of the players...

we were worried about the tactics and that some of the players didnt appear to be singing from the same hymm sheet as the management..

if and when that changes we may not be "we are all doomed" anymore..

ward is a direct replacement for pilkington, he has a good shot on him and works much harder, if its 300,000 then considering what pilkington went for, its a steal..

lloyd dyer for roberts and a loan striker and we might then be ready to go..

only seen leven play twice "live" but consider that he would be a usefull addition to the squad, wages only and he has proved himself in this league ...

Danny Ward will be a big coup if he signs.

Better than Gary Roberts and Antony Pilkington put together.

if this does happen , IF, and we do get him for less than 1 million it would be a great bit of business . i'm sure there would be plenty of add ons espcially for a player like that.

McDermott on one wing and Ward on the other sounds like a pretty good wide force to me. maybe even better than Roberts and Pilks

pretty good wide force..
pretty good wide covering pair as well, obviously even better than roberts and pilkington, who never were...

attacking with no cover didnt work, defending in numbers and trying to sneak it didnt work..

maybe we will go for the happy medium this season???

Agreed MNT

A terrific signing if we can pull it off, On paper McDermott n Ward aint a patch on Roberts n Pilks, But we know different, They both work there socks off when they have not got the ball and both are brave enough to put a tackle in when required.
Please sign him Mr Hoyle.

Gotta gree with TC Ward has more about him than Robbo and I still think there is a lot more improvement in his game.....

If Spencer can show he can finish (didnt really have an opportunity in that 45 mins) trust me lads he will be breaking through...

The poor lad looks like a tank and Wayne Rooney all rolled into one but for sure he has fire in his belly. Rhodes semmed to just float through 45 minutes in a quiffy, faffy way.....

I made tose words up as I couldnt think of anything else without questioning his testosterone.....

so JR was just his usual self then Kindo?

The fee for Ward will be small, i'd guess 150K tops but with a big sell on clause. That way Bolton cover themselves if they have let a diamond go. He is only 19 i believe so too early to say if he is the real deal, some very promising signs though and well worth a gamble.

Yeh Psycho I just cant work him out at all ! Its either a fitness or a commitment issue either way it needs sorting were carrying the lad ! Spencer looks the real deal for me.... Given the game time he will blossom trust me mate !

if ward is willing to leave bolton for huddersfield its says somethig about him, it says he wants to play football not sit on a a bench and collect a paycheck.

same can be said of Gobern, we has offered a contract with a championship club be chose to drop a level to play.

Cooper wants to play too, he wants to improve his game and go out an play....same with McDermott.

i think we can all say we lacked a little commitment last year and some players looked like they were going through the motions...hopefully these additions will add some of the commitment we missed last year

I think some people have noticed the profit that we have made on Pilks and a bit on Pilks, and then realized that we are a club with the Midas touch, turning their rough cut jems into sparkling diamonds worth millions

posted on 10/7/11

Suspect Gobern and Ward will both be on bigger wages with us. You could argue it means they can't be bothered fighting for their place in a higher league and fancy the easy option of a long fat contract in Division 3 as they don't believe they are good enough? If Kay/Cads had turned our offered down and signed for Crawley i would not say it said great things about them.

Based on what I saw yesterday with and now with Wardy as well....We are a club that is certainly not going to do a Swindon.....
We're getting some key players in key positions sorted now with loads of cover....
Just short of a fast skillfull striker, and we're done....

I reckon Wardy will be on big bucks per week probably same as Gobern, but def worth every penny...

UTT...
