When will the media and fans learn?
A long time ago a player called Frank Lampard recieved abuse from his West Ham fans, and was labelled a fat waist of space. He joined Chelsea for £10m in 2001, which would have been over £20m in todays money. Chelsea fans were very critical of the buy, and believed that their rivals had done them over.
At a similar time a young Steven Gerrard was breaking into a Liverpool side. He was used as a late sub to replace Jamie Redknapp on many occasions, and was mainly used as a defensive midfielder to make tackles. Liverpool fans didn't see enough ability in Stevie to become another Fowler or even Redknapp.
These two English midfielders are now known as two of the greatest Premier League players ever. Both have Champions League medals to their names, and have countless trophies. At the age of 21, Jordan Henderson has the world at his feet. He is already much more physically fit and tactically aware then what both Gerrard and Lampard were at the same age. Like many players of his age he is low on confidence, but time will improve this.
He speaks correctly, has the right attitude and isn't in the papers or on twitter trying to attract attention. I have great faith in Henderson, and with players like Gerrard and Lucas around him, he has the right players to learn from.

You're right about Carrick. I was bemused as to why he was not included.... until I read that he basically opted out of the squad. I was really disappointed with that.
But on the other hand, at least he will be fresh for the new season which is great news for Utd.

My point is none of your points indicate he will be a top midfielder in Europe. He is nothing more than potential at the moment.

Henderson was behind Spearing as a choice for a berth in Liverpools central midfield.Jay Spearing and Jon jo Shelvey ffs.Henderson is not even considered to be amongst his own clubs top 4 central midfielders,a club btw that finished 8th and were points wise closet to finishing in the bottom 3 than top 4.
It's an absolute joke that he's anywhere near Englands senior squad

No one knew Gerrard and Lamparfd were quality from the off at all.
The same for Ronaldo when he joined United or Drogba joining Chelsea, both struggled to live upto the hype!

At 21 Gerrard was 25th in the Ballon d'Or and 28th in the FIFA World Player of the Year

When gerrard, was a teen wasnt he turned down by lilleshall where all the best players went. Now hes achieved more than almost all of those players.
